Not real happy with the format. Only 3 prelim games kinda sucks. Would rather see the teams in 2 groups instead of 3 and only have the top 3 or 4 in each group advance instead of having every team advance.

USA appears to be in the group of death if there is such a thing. Have to play Russia in Russia and also Slovakia who is no slouch. Canada has an easy road with only tough game being Finland. Sweden has a slightly tougher road in the sense that Swiss is a tougher opponent than Austria and Norway, but on the flipside, Czech is a worse team than Finland.

3 game prelim round is only used to determine seeding for the playoff round, all 12 teams in the preliminary round advance:

Would rather see more round robin pre lim games and less teams make it to the second round.
