San Jose, California. Must be terrible.

Well, the organization seems to be held together with duct tape and Joe Thornton secondary assists. As shaky as things have gotten for the Hawks, at least they're in a playoff spot.

There's a 5 hole joke in there somewhere.

Yeah I liked him but 25 games without a point? Im all for glue guys but that cant happen.

He was a very good penalty killer, but I suspect Vermette must be taking those minutes.

There's a report that flipping Smith for Desjardins allows the Hawks to keep Teuvo up, but they would have had to have been cap-compliant already, and I don't believe he was Rockford-shuffled since Friday.

I have a feeling Vermette is going to be huge disappointment your love for him aside.

Fuckin' he better not be or we just lost a mid-teens pick to the team that's already getting Connor McDavid (and don't think they're not gonna rig it for Phoenix). There's a lot to like about him and he doesn't have to be The Man here.

Thats just it though, he doesn't have to be the man. So whats to expect from him? I have him as being just a slightly better Kruger and I mean slightly. Which isn't saying much. The team is goal starved and all we really got was a defensive minded 2nd line center. I don't see that improving things much.

Did Crawford not have a huge cut underneath his eye a few weeks ago or possibly more recently? I swear he did a post game interview and I saw that on him. Maybe it was someone else.

I hate to focus on non-hockey aspects of the team, but that appears (to me) to be the source of the problem. This team went into a hole in December (shortly after Reif’s suicide) and they haven’t found a way out. Like many here have said, it appears to be effort related which has most noticeably impacted the defense. Crawford hasn’t helped, as he’s looked average at best.

If there is an ounce of truth to the Patrick Sharp rumors, he simply cannot be on this team. It’s one thing for him to nail a teammates wife, but a team employee killed himself. Regardless of whether Reif had other depression issues, this is just too dark of a cloud. He needs to go. Yesterday. Unfortunately, all we can do is speculate and go off of what we hear.

I like the Vermette deal. I have no idea what to think about Timonen, but hope it pays off. I just fear it’s not enough.

The story now is that it was Crawford that slept with Reif's wife, not Sharp.

Whatever may or may not be true, I don't really think it's fair to blame one goof for another goof's suicide. Sometimes life sucks. Get a fuckin' helmet.

this isn't about blame....a guy killed himself and a factor (not full blame) was due to someone on the time nailing his wife. That's going to create a big ass distraction with the team.
