This is confirming my suspicion that McDonough intentionally said 12 weeks so that Kane would heroically recover ahead of schedule. Great news.

Regardless of your overall Hawks cynicism, this is outstanding news.

Give it 1 1/2-2 weeks from today which is roughly Game 5 or 6 of Round 1

The collar bone does not heal based on what game it is, 10 weeks is May 22, 2015.

There is video out of him shooting. He probably could have come back sooner but then Bowman would not have been able to play cap hijinks.

Jason Zucker had a very similar injury to Kane two weeks before his and he's likely playing tonight.

Taking shots or not, he shouldn't see the ice until the 2nd series in the playoffs. He needs to fully heal. They need to win the first round without him.

If they go down either 2-0 or 3-1 in the first round, he'll be in the following respective game.

You are probably correct....I'm they're just getting the best 2 lines rested and ready. I like how Crawford and Hossa are playing, but damn we can't fucking score for anything right now.

Was cleared for contact today. Wore a full contact jersey.
Looks like they'll say he's ready for Wednesday. If they're smart they'll wait til they lose a game or two before bringing him in.

Bowman played this well. I am not sure I am not ashamed about the cap manipulation though. Probably feel better as the guys we added suck.

Do you think he went to Switzerland to do that blood spinning thing to make it heal faster? Which is illegal here.

I'm not joking.

No way it's healed in 7 weeks if he didn't do something.

Jason Zucker came back in the same timeframe. I think 12 weeks was always the most conservative estimate.

The Hawks might not lose 2 games to the Preds.

I hope you're right. If that's the case, save him for round 2.

I know we are better but the Predators play pretty tough. I would hate to bring kane back early if they didn't need to. I think they'll win in 6 without him, 5 with him but Corey better be good!

Yup, I think down to the same week in terms of timeline.

They aren't going to risk long term problems with Kane to rush him back for a couple games. If the Dr.'s say it's healed up, he should play

Matty during the first update: "Patrick Kane has been cleared by team doctors for full participation, no word yet if he will play tomorrow night."

2 hours ago @MarkLazerus: Patrick Kane will play in Game 1.

1 hour ago @chicagotribune: Welcome back, Patrick Kane. Blackhawks star to return for Game 1 of playoffs in Nashville.

1 hour ago @88PKane: Great to be back for the playoffs. Thank you to all the great fans for the many well wishes over the last seven weeks!

That is like the couple day a month or two ago when Matty's updates were like a new segment "Yesterday's News".

I hope Kane can stay off the boards and avoid the corners as much as possible. I know this is nearly impossible, but I dont want to see him get lit up.

I get the sentiment, but you can count on one hand the amount of times he's been lit up in his career and still have a finger or two left over. I'm sure it's every teams plan to put a body on him and be physical.

Yeah I am not too worried. No way they put one of their two franchise players out there willy nilly. He got the plate too and that makes the collar bone so strong. Collar bones are the least detrimental injury aside from Tommy john. The surgery makes it better. Kaner is fine. Rose I'm not so sure about.
