Just seeing the NHL TV ratings from game #1...

1. Chicago 28
2. TB 17
3. Buffalo 7.1
...
10. Pittsburgh 4.4

The ability to get an unreal haul for the guy has to be there?

I am not shopping him, I am making one call to Pingvin and asking....

Saad for Malkin? Maybe have Pens toss in Letang?

Kirkwood has had some disappointing thoughts of late on the Cubes and Hawks.

The guy that should be dangled out their for a huge ransom is Seabrook. He has had himself a hell of a year and playoffs so far, is due a huge new contract after next year and was on the shit list not too long ago.

For the rather dim amongst us, this is a parody of the trade Kaner thread, it's not a real suggestion.

I don't believe for a second that Kirkwood knew he was an RFA.

Maybe he was blackballed.

I hope Bowman makes sure to call his parents during the negotiations to check if he's a good guy.

Really???

Because he is younger than 30. I mean that is the threshold for that sort of thing.

I'm sure that Bowman already knows his parents.

Do you still think that he should call?

Kirkwood is a fucking idiot. Anyone with half a brain knows that Toews would bring back twice the return that Saad would.

Should we trade Toews to Winnipeg? Do they have TVs? Will they be able to watch their hometown kid?

Do you think Toews would snag us a 5th and 6th defensemen we've desperately needed this playoffs?!?!?

I was gonna post a Should we trade Toews thread last night, but this will do just fine for the same purposes.

The Parody Thread in itself is a demonstration of lack of thought.

But you know the idea of trading Toews is far more outlandish than the thought of trading Kane. Kane is one hell of a talented and exciting player, but Toews is the centerpiece of this team. In the salary cap era a good team is going to have to make decisions about letting guys go that it doesn't necessarily want to let go. Again, I doubt they would trade Kane, but I don't think it's as farfetched as some are making it out to be.

No, the idea of trading Kane is just as outlandish as trading Toews.

They are both the faces of the franchise and the cornerstones.

Salary cap, no salary cap, 10 salary caps, it doesn't matter. YOU DON'T TRADE YOUR SUPERSTARS JUST TO SAVE MONEY. And you sure as hell don't trade a superstar as good as Kane..or Toews...or Keith.

The decisions about letting guys go will relate to the Sharps, Bickells, Krugers, Shaws and possibly Seabrooks and Crawfords of the world.

Some/many have small minds.
