The whole team does. The one good thing about the 2012 lockout was that the Blackhawks weren't able to peace out halfway through the season and just had no choice but to kick everyone's ass for 48 games.

In fairness to Toews, he missed the end of 2012 with a concussion from a Joe Thornton hit, so that's going to skew his post-ASG numbers a bit. But like I said, the team has a tendency to crawl in a hole and die every January. I don't know how much of that is his leadership, such as it is in this instance, but I know he's gone on the record saying he gets bored.

The whole points thing is fine, but let's be honest, pure scores put the puck in the back of the net.

I disagree here as well. The nature of hockey is such that the real legwork of a goal is just as likely to go to the primary or secondary assistant as it is to the goal scorer. Dave Andreychuk has a shit-ton of goals, the all-time leader in power-play goals, I believe, but no one really gives a shit because he was seemingly just in the right place at the right time. That's why the Art Ross (most points) is the coveted trophy in the scoring race and the Rocket Richard (most goals) is just a nice afterthought.

I guess we can all congratulate Jonathan Toews for taking his leadership to a whole new level as there haven't been any rumors of players fucking each other's wives.

Kudos to Toews for straightening that one out this season.

nice to see the 10.5M dollar many finally put up points to earn his paycheck. there's only so much intagibling one can do before they need to be ask what do they actually contribute.

Last night NBCSN told us he has more points since Jan 22 than he had from the start of the season up to Jan 22.

Toews is now in the top 50 in scoring and in the top 15 in PPG.

Assuming Hammer comes back ok this team is shaping up for a deep run, could even be the favorite out of the west.

I'm laughing right now at all of the people who said Toews was done. At the rate he's been scoring with his new linemates, he may well finish at PPG this season.

The Sharks will be the favorite but I wouldn't say the Hawks can't beat them.

I still don't trust the Hawks to hold leads and close out games. BUT, they are largely carrying the play in every game right now. I am pretty harsh on my own team, but in this case, the Hawks are even money or better against anyone in the West. Add in the experience of the core, and you have a potential winner.

I am extremely excited about their play. The young guys are coming along nicely, which I why I posted my thoughts in yesterday's game thread. Schmaltz and Hartman are excellent, and Panik is solid. TVR had a bad game......oh well.
