Anyone remember the last time the Hawks scored twice with the goalie pulled?

Crawford is currently expected to play in about 10 days. Hopefully he can avoid a relapse and rehab the rest of the way.

Game 5 vs. Anaheim, right? Toews had both of them too. They lost that game in the OT (Bickell turned it over IIRC) Games 6 and 7 of course were a different story. 8)

Mrazek sucks too. Halak or Khudobin would have been my choice who both signed for less than 3 M but for 2 years. Hell, I would have rather had Lehtonen or Mason who are still sitting at home.

Mrazek isn't great, but he'd be better than this and at half the price. Fucking Delia in Rockford would be better than this shit.

I don't know what Forsberg's injury status is, but if he's too injured to play the third game of a three-in-four, then you should have called Delia back up to play it. I don't even like having good goalies play all three of a three-in-four; of course a bad one is gonna have a night like that.

Does anyone actually believe Crawford will be ready for full game action on October 18th?

No.

But the hope puts me in a better mood than imagining/watching Ward playing.

At this point I definitely don't think Mrazek could be any worse than Ward has been.

Mrazek's broken. Mrazek wasn't that great before the Wings protected his backup and left him exposed in the expansion draft and Vegas didn't bite. Goalies be temperamental; shite like that fucks em up in the head, like a child of divorce neither parent wanted.

The Hawks and Crow are still saying they think the 18th is when he returns. I'll believe it when I see it, but if true, we only have to deal with 2 more games of Ward.

I don't believe it. Feels like Wood and Prior's pushbacks all over again.

Will Marcus Kruger be promoted back to center? I could understand if he's being broken back in at left wing to get used to the NHL again, but eventually you have to have him centering instead of Luke Johnson, who's fine enough as a 13th forward but should not be centering Marcus Kruger, who is nothing if not a one-of-a-kind defensive specialist. If that does happen, what are the odds that Kampf or Kahun can be molded into a Frolik-style penalty killer alongside Kruger, where his tools are all concentrated on a specialty job? Is that a luxury we can afford with turds in our bottom six like Anisimov and Martinsen?

I think Kahun sticks with Toews and 'Cat for now. He has shown good vision and playmaking which is lacking on this team outside the top 6. Ideally, the Hawks replace Kahun on that line and he slots down to the 3rd line. I do like Kampf in the Frolik role.

Fortin is up for Martinsen, I wonder if you could use his speed as something of a guided missile and just never expect anything out of his hands. I think he's almost as small as DeBrincat, though.

Kahun with an assist from the Captain and the Cat. Toews with two good passes leading to goals tonight.
Kahun's 1st NHL goal!
2-0 Hawks

How did the Blackhawks find Dominic Kahun under a rock but also think that Cam Ward is fit to play in this league? It's like being able to make a wedding cake but not a hamburger.

Bad defense and meh goaltending ends in a 4-3 OT loss for the Hawks

He fell asleep on the tying goal but so did everyone else around the net

Great question. How do you give that terrible goalie a no movement clause?

I fell asleep and didn't catch the last two periods but did wake up to see the overtime. I heard company-man Olczyk really pumping the tires hard on Ward. I saw that he had a lot of saves. So how did Ward play?

Cam Ward had zero chance on the tying goal. But he's still useless.

Saad has been dogshit. Pulling a Sharpie with the failure on the breakaway.

It's nice to see Capt. 10.5M finally earn his money.
