I too thought the family positioning looked odd but didn't realize there was an ex in the mix. I just assumed the girl in the purple was his wife and the rest were cousins, brothers and in-laws.

Also found it odd that Sharpie was a co-presenter of the Silver Stick. Wasn't there noisy whispering a few years about dalliances between Sharp and Keith's wife/girlfriend/whatever that was responsible for their bad play and destroying team CHEMISTRY? Or do I have that mixed up with something else?

No, didn't you hear? The team whose #1 center got shitfaced and drove a truck through the front of a Tim Hortons is a likable bunch!

I said the Blues didn't have the hate-ability as their teams in the past. I didn't say they were likeable. So if you are sarcastically reference my posts, at least get it right.

And if you want to discuss teams, how likable are the Hawks? #1 star winger with a history of alcohol issues and general douchebag behavior. A team ambassador who was a wife-beating, Hitler-sympathizer. And speaking of DUIs, the Hawks HOF coach got one himself when he was the Avs coach.

I think that was Danny Bernstein and the whispers he hears.

There were a lot of rumors that Sharp broke up Keith's marriage (throughout NHL history, you'll notice that players really fail to lock their wives down around their own teammates. Is it benign neglect?), but that was 2015, and Keith didn't play poorly; if anything, he dragged that team across the finish line himself. That was also the year of Sharp and Cheryl Scott. I thought it was weird too, but everyone has since been very insistent that Everything Is Fine and this would fit with that.

Did anyone ever figure out how the equipment manager was involved with this and why he killed himself? That story just kind of vanished into thin air as if it never happened.

So will we have to wait until Thursday for the Hawks to announce Crow isn't ready?

Probably.

It would surprise the hell out of me if he plays Thursday. What’s the ceiling for the Hawks if Crawford were 100%?

5 seed. More likely a 7 or 8 seed.

Well, they technically don't seed 1-8 anymore, but yeah, in that neighborhood. Third in the division is as high as they can finish, and all that does is feed them to whoever finishes second between the Preds and Jets. Maybe Pekka Rinne will be 0% at some point this season, that would make things fun.

I think their goal should be to set the record for OTL. Play a shit 80s game and drag everything into OT, and then figure that Patrick Kane can win 1/3 of them by himself in 3-on-3.

I want to see a record like 10-10-62 in regulation, so 35-10-37 total with 107 points.

 As crazy as this sounds, this approach is their best chance to make the playoffs.

It would also be the impetus to get the NHL to give the third point for regulation wins.

What would be funny is if we miss the playoffs because we gave teams like the Blues so many loser points that they end up passing us in the standings.

At least they've been entertaining so far. They're playing with more hustle too. Last winter, I wanted to poke my eyes out after watching their games.

Effort's never been a problem in the early going, it's always after New Year's that they stop caring.

Sold.

Hope they can beat the Coyotes in regulation tonight. That'd be nice.

It's far more likely that the Coyotes average out their high possession stats and terrible scoring against an incredibly rusty goalie.

Coyotes score first on a two-on-one that I don't think anyone was stopping, but they certainly haven't looked like the possession beast they were made out to be. Hawks have outplayed them so far. But shame on Fortin for having an eternity to make his shot but just firing way high.

13 on goal, 10 blocked, 7 missed, so at least the 1-0 score is not for lack of trying.
