I don't watch enough hockey to know what I'm talking about but for the last 2 years whenever the Hawks are on a power play it never looks like they have an advantage.

They rarely do. Even in the championship year, the power play was only mediocre. There's some bad coaching on that bench.

I would like to see the Hawks, instead of these big slap shots, just have a guy in front of the net and just flip some shorts toward the goal.

Thats what Detroit seems to do, just get the puck on net. The Hawks...Keith, Sharpe etc...take these big slap shots and seem to miss the net most of the time.
