I hope it is as similar to the Penguins as it seems. They sucked ass the first half of last year. Then they said screw this and brought a ton of kids from the minors in as well as a couple key adds. They were on fire and hungry like this and the results are history.

I think they're hungry. The Hawks usually start off the season playing hard and then pull it back which might happen again but even when they're getting outplayed so far it's not due to a lack of effort.

I think it's a mix of young guys who want to be here and contribute and a core of vets who don't like that the Penguins won their second Cup of this era. I honestly think it bothers these guys. They want to be so much better than everyone else.

I know it's early and they're riding a streak but these guys are playing like they're genuinely upset that everyone forgot about them.

Crawford is on a mission.

I did not see Anisimov going from really nice 2nd line center to one of the top scorers in the league.

Crawford has something like a .980 save percentage during 5v5 play. That's beyond insane.

Take away 10 games of historically shitty PK and Crawford would be the top story on everyone's mind nationally.



I guess Upshall is regretting not doing a little more indepth scouting because if he did he would've found out that Panarin does MMA fighting and boxing for his off ice summer workouts. I was very excited to see him droppppp the glllovs and show off those sssssils.

Never was. Great PK forward, but they couldn't pay him that with the salary cap. He will sign back here in a few years.
