We got fairly-well-touted draft pick Brendan Perlini and one of the many Underachieving Stromes

Strome with a plus 50% on faceoffs this year. Thank god

Calm down. It at least seems Perlini can score a little and Strome is better at faceoffs this year than Ansimov and Schmaltz.

If neither can skate, then they are bottom 6 at best.

Dylan Strome was drafted 3rd overall behind McDavid and Eichel and he's put up 16 points in his 47-game career. Mitch Marner can hit 16 points in like a month. He'd better be one late bloomer.

I didn't see that one coming.

Why the fuck would the yotes want Schmaltz?

They're doing The Process out there, probably to move him for draft picks at the deadline.

Think I like this trade. Schmaltz was trending downward and they got two potential top-6 forwards younger than Schmaltz. Schmaltz has been frustrating as fuck. Guess Strome and 'Cat had some good chemistry in juniors.

I haven't seen many games this year live but is Forsling always this awful? He had an easy line to clear a puck and just stopped and made Crawford do it. He followed that shitshow up by standing there and letting Vegas score.

It is hard to say a team quits when they just suck balls but this team looks like they quit tonight. Looks like a lot of standing around and weak ass attempts at going after pucks. I sure hope Stan has a Plan B or Plan C.

I missed the 2nd and 3rd goals but I was back for the 4th and it was Forsling again. That was as half ass an effort on a PK as you will ever see from a defenseman.

It viewed the defense being played by his teammates and melted.

I wonder if Eddie is talking about the “great” NBC Sports broadcast crew tonight? Oh wait, we can’t hear him because this great crew is having the ever present technical difficulties with the game. At least we get the great TSN feed. Thanks.

The Jets have a real problem on their hands if Hellebuyck is gonna play like shit all year. I'm sure they'll get reinforcements at the deadline (probably in the form of defense, they're quite set at forward), but this can't go on much longer if they're going to win the Stanley Cup this year, and if they're ever gonna win it, it pretty much has to be this year.

I have two battle tested, 3 time cup winning defensemen that I will gladly send them.

You joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if they traded for Niklas Hjalmarsson: experienced veteran who can still block some shots, former Blackhawk, and Winnipeg is extremely Nordic-friendly. They need defensive stalwarts, and not only are stay-at-homes a dying breed in this league, I can't imagine many others will be available at the deadline.

My Hawks guy said they traded him because he had the audacity to question Seabrook and Keith about their play.

This seems like the opposite of what Bowman's hand picked coach said the other day in an interview.

Also sounds like the opposite of everything we've heard about Schmaltz being kind of a lump.
