All year I called this a low-effort team and it really came to roost this week. The Blues outmuscled the Hawks up and down the ice and played every game on their terms. If you watched this team, you can't be surprised. These are the same guys that got rocked in every Western Conference playoff preview they played. St. Louis beat them. Dallas beat them. Los Angeles beat them. Even Minnesota beat them. It'll be very interesting to see where they're allowed to go from here.

Refs handing the Hawks the game, the Hawks politely decline it. A 2-0 lead for the Ducks wins this game. Pathetic showing thus far.
The Ducks are sloppy and the Hawks are timid. Truly the fruits of a 116-minute game tonight. Blech. Glad it's tied.
I guess we ran into the hot goalie.
Andersen is 102/107 (.953) in the series. Mike Smith all over again.
Opinion, not fact: this team looks pathetic.
Hawks look defeated out there.
I thought the Hawks were supposed to get all their shit efforts out of their system in the second half of the season. I didn't think they had any more in 'em.
Probably just going to be a Ducks empty-netter to wrap things up here. Demoralizing loss.
Can't beat Andersen. That's series. Not winning three out of four against a team this good.
The Hawks would be on the verge of a sweep if not for the crossbar. Pathetic showing.
That ought to do it.
Utterly shameful.
This sucks because after this, it's all over.
Back to your regularly scheduled playoff exit, I guess.
I am aware. I don't think they have enough talent to win two games.
Technically, it's just a 75% chance the Ducks win the series if they win, but they're not dropping 6 and 7.
My hunch is that with New York forcing a game 7, Chicago will not, giving rise to annoying Rangers fans talking about how the Rangers did what the Hawks couldn't and subjecting us to more boring Rangers games
Hawks are overdue for an elimination-game shitkicking. They've only been knocked out in less than game 7 sudden death by two teams under Q/Toews/Kane: the '09 Red Wings and the '12 Coyotes. With all this rhetoric about how you can never count the Hawks out and the Rangers winning last night, the universe feels like it's setting everything up for the Hawks to lay a big egg. My guess is they give up the first goal in the first five minutes and never lead or tie, but don't let the floodgates open until the third, ensuring that we all sit through ~45 minutes of frustrating suckage before we can find something better to do with our time
