Advanced metrics are getting really advanced.

Keith may not have been at his best last night (and Seabrook was awful), but he atoned for a multitude of sins by sweeping that puck off the goal line. Goals at 19:59 and 39:59 would have been devastating not just to winning that game but possibly what little confidence Crawford must still have.

Confident it's just rust with Seabrook. We'll forget about this slow start within a week or two. Shaw is..the same guy as last year. He's all over the place on the ice, but he's not getting the positives that come from it. Just getting caught out of position more often than not. He needs to be off PP1 yesterday.

Yeah, that's just absurd. He's not really the same guy because he's being asked to cover more ice and be more defensively responsible. He has to keep it simple: short shifts, straight lines, dig out the corners, crash the net. I don't know why Quenneville is this big on him. He usually saves this sort of thing for old guys who can't play, like Sean O'Donnell or Andrew Brunette.

Holy crap the reason the Hawks look so much better is just no Andrew Brunette. And no Brendan Morrison. That guy sucked.

My opinion was 100% defense related. You can give Keith the puck 10 feet in front of the goalie and he'll still miss the net. I'm at ease with that by now.

Yea, I'd be a lot more at ease with it Q stopped putting him out on the PP. But I do agree that his defense has been great.
