Too much depth for them to handle. Datsyuk and Zetterberg can be on the ice for only so long.

Not to mention the Holy Hell they went thru in the last round, the overtimes, the 7 games. Brutal series took its toll.

Dude....in case you missed the story about it. It is in honor of a 13 year old fan who passed away from cancer this week.

Cleary and Oduya had quite a battle there in front of the net.

Kaner's gonna get the empty netter, make it 4-1.

SOG's 41 Hawks to 18 Wings.

Babcock's gonna have to shuffle his lines or they'll be booking Thursday AM tee times this time next week.

aaaaand there it is, the horrible giveaway by Oduya keeping up his torrid pace of at least 3 a game that result in great scoring chances.

I will be an hour or so outside of Detroit this weekend so I will be rocking my hawks shirts whenever possible in public.

If you hurry, you might be able to hitch a ride with the Wings tonight. They were saying that for these Chicago games they fly in day of game and then fly back that night post-game.

man it's amazing... the #1 seed hawx took care of business with the #8 seed wild, leaving the final 3 teams in the west to be the 5, 6, and 7 seeds. goddamn dude.... i mean, i saw an unlucky # in the hawks final tally so idk if taht's a bad omen.... but the west has opened up to the hawks, adn that dude on mac and speagol from toronto thinks the hawx will whitewash the east if they can make it out of the west...... so like wow.

obviously if the hawks handle they business (and dont discount detoit, they're always there and it's always interesting, even tho my friend the wings fan says this team has no heart aka TWTW) it looks like, the sharks are the problem in the east? wowza.... can any of the 5,6,7 seeds really go out there and match the hawks int erms of not just front line skill but the waves and waves of depth that the hawks have?

either way, if the hawks can get another cup this year, shit, you gotta hand it to the bowman clan cuz like, IIRC after the cup the hawx had two first round exits after being low-middling seeds....and to turn re-load flip a switch and suddenly be president's cup material and play these thoroughly impressive playoff games? wowza. detroit will prolly grind it out and find a way to make it 6, since they took the hawks to OT twice during the reg season, one being a national NBC game during "the streak"....and it;s always fun to rehash those DEEEEE-TROIT SUCKS chants i remember from growing up with an uncle who had season tickets in section M of the stadium throughout the 80s til ~92 (their custom shirts rocked. cheaply made to the point they'd be stylishly retro now, but the front said none: it's french [cuz their old running joke was that when goals were assisted by none it was the mysterious jocelyn none: it's french] and like, yeah, aside from the tactical thing of getting rid of the ducks (unless hockey gay was dead on) i'm glad to see the hawks having a path open up, but seeing my unlucky # means that they'll prolly get taken in the SCF unless the SHARKs or whoever the other mid-seed is has the series of their life aka a hot goaltender)

but yeah, inspiring win.... i turned it on at 2-1 in the third and welp, suffice to say i saw that third goal and that was that. the empty netter wasn't the blowed load, but more like the paper towels to clean it up. JOLLY GOOD SHOW GENTS.

also, is the general consensus that with the hawks being a deep young/ish team the short/compressed season helped them out to run out and amass a bunch of points and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs? i mean 48 games 36 wins? prolly like ~5 losses if that? wowza.... impressive and fun hockey to watch, and again, despite hockey gay's blistering critique of the pretender ducks, i'm still glad to see them gone cuz during the regular season they proved capable of beating the hawks, cuz counting OTLs, i think they did it, what, 2-3 times?

but yeah, when the WCSF = your #1 seed along with 5. 6. 7 it's like.... thank you jesus! now to wonder who comes out of the west if this all pans out.... the pens? as a hockey ignoramus that one comes ot mind, especially with teh million dollar jaw crosby and pals out there.... but i dont think they have the depth/goalie.... and man, sicne the east didnt have to fuck with the west, if it's the lesser conference aside from having all of the trophy winners.... shit, bring it on! BRING THAT DAMN CUP BACK TO THE HOME.

not to mention, with the cap more properly managed and some young guys like saad getting out there nad getting ingratiated to winning hockey, the hawks are gonna be a bitch for a few years to come.
