I haven't defended Kane at all in this thread. I have pointed out issues I have with the various pieces of "evidence" that have come out via the press. I've done the same thing for issues I have with posts written here that are from the pro-Kane camp as well, notably one a few pages back where i called out something Beardown wrote that was disparaging towards the accuser.

No, I think I'm okay. I root for the indianhead sweater and not the individuals who wear it. I can be aware that someone is an awful person and still root for that person to bring success to my team.

well there's a good chance 70-80% of the athletes that were seen as great people and not undressed by the media like they are now were bad people too. not to mention that women didn't report rape cases back in the day. it was just considered an unfortunate event for the woman if a boozy baseball player wanted to take advantage of her. so i get what HG's saying too. i hated when jeremy shockey joined the saints. i can't say he didn't help my team finally win their first superbowl. i root for the team, i can't help it if the players can be total scumbags.

I don't have to like them. But I certainly don't want them to be rapist or women beaters.

If they're alcoholics, drug addicts or cheat on their wives I don't care. You have to accept that if you root for a team. That's a good percentage of them.

Part of fhe joy of sports for me is rooting for athletes who I like. Sure I root for my teams, but the players make the sport and I like to like them.
