Panarin snubbed, but Hawks got 4 players into the game...

People are upset about Toews getting in and not Panarin, but there's an interesting theory floating around regarding that. NHL will announce its top 100 players of all time at the all star game, its been reported that 6 current players are on the list. Elliot Friedman is stating that one of those players is Toews. Theory is that the NHL put him on the team for better optics when they announce the top 100.

Of course, that theory loses some steam when you consider that Jagr didn't make the all star team and is obviously going to be in the top 100. Maybe the NHL figured that as old as Jagr is it won't look weird for him to not be an allstar whereas Toews is still in his prime and should be an allstar in his prime if he's also going to be considered one of the 100 best of all time.
