I like your optimism but I don't think so. Debrincat and Strome are nice pieces but to make a run you need stars and the Hawks have nothing in their system in the ilk of a Kane, Toews, or Keith. This is why I wanted to completely tank so badly. Hughes or Kakko has the best chance of becoming one of those players. This was a lost season. Maybe they lucky in the lottery or the draft.

I think Cat might be something. He has increased his scoring by about 10 goals. After next season, Crows money comes off the books. I think this is manageable if spent right. I also think, that Arizona trade shows we don't need to go after offense, this offseason.

2008 was definitely the starting point, but I'm not agreeing to the last 10 years being great.
It was clear after losing in 2016 to the fucking Blues it was over. Greatness ended with the cup in 2015.

some bright spots for a new era are here, but there's still a big giant salary cap hole to fix.
