Most everyone agreed that Tuesday night's game against the Sharks was the biggest of the year. I'd agree. I would also submit that tonight's game with the Coyotes is even more important than the Sharks game was, because I really believe this team is going to win the Stanley Cup.

The Coyotes are 4-4-2 on the year so far, but you have to think of those first few games as a preseason that counted. We're not going to see a reprise of the 6-4 pond hockey game they played to start the season. The Coyotes are getting their players back and they're getting back into their dreaded system. In their last five games, they have a 2-1 win over Minnesota, a 2-0 win over Dallas, a 4-3 shootout loss to Dallas, a 2-1 overtime loss to Edmonton, and a 4-0 win over Nashville. Four goals allowed in five games is rather scary, and makes you wonder if the interference crackdown that threatened to be their undoing has evaporated already. They get decent scoring from Vrbata and Korpikoski, their defensive corps is probably the best in the league, and when they fall into that shell, you just won't get a shooting lane on them. It's a formidable team, one that is STILL under league ownership: the most recent bid to buy the team failed last week. That gives me pause, as it means Gary Bettman still has a vested interest in their continued success. The only strike against them that I can think of is that they've played almost exclusively at home so far.

So. The Torres thing. I don't want any retaliation. The refs are going to be watching the Hawks like, well, hawks. Play the game, try to score, wait for him to do something stupid on his own. A staged fight won't unring any bells. That being said, if the game gets out of hand, feel free to lay his ass out. B)

I'm hoping Q flips Kane and Hossa. Toews and Kane always make things happen, and Sharp-Bolland-Kane just isn't working.

I don't want to see any retaliation either...but there's part of me that wishes that Carbomb was healthy just to send him out there and try to stab Torres with his skate.

I meant the Coyotes are going to win the Stanley Cup. :( They're coalescing too well for my liking.

Always nice to see Shane Doan skating around doing whatever the fuck he wants to in the offensive zone and seeing the Hawks have no answer for him.

Doan is such a fuckhead. He's one of those terrible human beings that throws a shitfit when anyone other than himself has the audacity to celebrate a goal. Only I may dance.

Oh and also he's dirty as fuck but no one pays any attention to that because he's The Captain and he's from Alberta so he's just A Good Classic Farm Boy Who Plays The Right Way. Honestly, I'd rather someone take a run at him than Torres.

Ugh, this game is making me a nervous wreck. I have a bad feeling about this one. 3-0 Coyotes?

Did you see Emery in that first minute? He looked very very confused.

So does this mean it's settled with Torres or do the Hawks continue to target him with dirty checks and maybe another fight?

How does this work?

That was pointless. Hooray, everything is okay now! Except for the Hawks' play, which has been shitty.

How the hell did Mike Smith beat the Hawks last year? That goal was super soft.

Andrew Shaw is Jarome Iginla, because he's setting up the play.

Emery looks terrible. He's been bailed out several times. Coyotes are playing a good physical game as usual. I hope they can break through this sludge.

I love when Coyote fans complain about this. The theory behind moving to PHX, TB or MIA was to market to the supposed large populace of snowbirds from Midwest, Northeast and Canada. Who do you think they're going to root for?

Our power play has gotten so shitty that Pat Foley just talks right through the call and announcement as if nothing happened. Might as well not have.
