This didn't work.
Cut bait. Find another option.

I missed it...
Can you quote or paraphrase?

It was quick right after the last goal, something about his return not being good. I'm reading into it but it's in his voice, like this can't go on.

Well, like I said, you can waive him, but if he clears, you can only take $900,000 off his cap hit under the new CBA, which would leave you with $1,100,000 if the performance bonuses stay on the cap and $800,000 if you don't. If he were to retire, his entire hit may stay on the books because he's a 35+, though that rule may not apply to one-year deals. With another here-and-there back-to-back this weekend (at Winnipeg, home against Calgary), you're already looking at another backup situation right after this disaster tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if Morin goes down for the day (waiver-exempt whereas Mills/Smith aren't) and Raanta comes up to play the Flames game just to forestall the inevitable with Khabibulin.

Signing Khabi was curious to say the least & I really don't understand why they did it. He is old, slow & washed up. He might get one more chance, then Raanta is called up from Beautiful Rockford, IL.

I don't get why they didn't just have Raanta be the back up. They wanted to get him playing time in the AHL, I guess, but Crawford is locked up to be the starter for years to come, Raanta is going to be the back up anyways.

Bulin has nothing left, I don't see him turning it around. They'll give him a few more starts anyways but you know the Hawks aren't going to be overly patient with him.

Similar to having a Latin player in baseball hang out in AA for a few months. I think they are trying to acclomate him to America (I know, Rockford) and the rigors of the American schedule before adding on the pressure of playing for the defending champs.

Khabi is going to get at least 3-4 more starts before a move is even remotely considered.

Hawks could help him out as well. 22 shots allowed through a period and a half can make any goalie look bad.

Apparently badly injured as he needed help getting off the ice so I gotta think they IR him now and bring someone up or sign someone now and go ahead and let him ride off into the sunset.

Time to hang um up Khabi. You're finished.

The best part is that he had shoulder surgery for his injured groin.

Okay, so I wasn't the only one wondering this.

I can't remember. I know Crawford had the groin but never remembered what they said was the injury reason to stash Khabi?

I wonder if he also had surgery on his pride bone cause that was broke too.

There's just something so wonderfully Khabibulin about getting his shoulder cleaned up while he's already on the shelf for something else. It reminds me of all those years that he would make sure to get injured at the trade deadline so that he wouldn't be inconvenienced with having to move, starting conversations we had no business having about whether Pat Lalime or Brian Boucher could help get this team to the next level.

It was either a groin or leg because he went to reach out for the save and couldn't skate off, if I remember correct.
