Hawks are mere minutes from the aesthetic atrocity that is white sweaters and socks against yellow sweaters and socks.

The Perds are looking almost as good as the Hawks to start the year despite a dumpster-dive of a forward corps featuring Olli Jokinen, Derek Roy, and cokehead Ribeiro. At defense, they're doing Seth Jones a big favor for his development by pairing him with the ever-conscientious Anton Volchenkov, who seems like he's been around forever but is only in his twelfth season after long tenures with Ottawa and New Jersey.

Raanta for us, Rinne for them, which could be trouble, but hockey is weird and it's certainly possible they light Rinne up while failing to get much of anything past Carter Hutton.

Just stay out of the box so that our kraut-mick friend Shea Weber can't crank off any 120-mph slappers, because those either score or injure.

CH - Do you suppose Molly Lambert realizes that Schroedinger himself didn't in any way, shape, or form believe in the scenario he presented in the so-called "Schroedinger's Cat" thought experiment?

Wait, this isn't the ask anything thread ...

There is a certain comfort in this thread like CH will wrap us in his protective bubble. It is warm. It is home.

I don't think Molly Lambert realizes anything.

Predators looked to be in firm control through the first (solid Hawks kill and garbage goal notwithstanding), but I still don't trust their personnel to sustain this over the long run. Someone has to fuck up Ribeiro if the game is out of hand one way or the other. I hate that guy.

That was one of the best non scoring power plays Ive seen the Blackhawks have in a long time. Im really starting to build a good hatred of the fucking Fredators too.

Yeah, can't hold that one against them. Richards, though, I knew he wasn't a defensive stalwart but man, how many goals or near-goals is he going to cause?

He's been pretty awful so far this year.

How long is Nashville going to try to ride Rinne? The guy never has been able to get them to the promised land.

Yes but that was with Barry Trotz as head coach. Trotz is the Lovie Smith of the NHL...all defense, no offense. This is a better and more exciting team under Laviolette.

I don't think Laviolette is really a terrific coach himself. His teams in Raleigh and Philadelphia gave up almost as many goals as they scored, and he loses dressing rooms by being kind of an ass to his players. Also, I just don't trust this lineup to keep doing what it's doing. It's still pretty weak up front.

Gaustad takes two penalties in a span of 10 seconds that don't get called near the end of the game. Get the fuck out with that.

Yeah, that was bullshit. Tough night, Neal and Rinne were on, what are you gonna do. Still, I'm much more worried about the Blues and Wild than I am a team whose best forward is James Neal and a coach who just yells "WE NEED JAM! LET'S GET SOME JAM HERE!" like some guy whose wife didn't do grocery shopping.

Blues lost, Wild won, so at least the Blues loss takes a little sting off the evening.

What? Is this a serious post?

I guess the Rangers should get rid of Henrik since he never got them to the promised land.
