Scoring goals would be miraculous for the Hawks, having scored one even-strength goal in the last 186 minutes. Unfortunately, Niemi is on a tear trying to will the shitty Sharks into the playoffs where they'd just lose again anyway, and that notwithstanding he always gives us problems. Should be another low-scoring affair, which is frustrating, because we're due for a ton of goals.

Joakim Nordstrom is out two games for the hit on OEL, so Desjardins should slot back in. The good thing is that the vaunted Shark Tank has not been the tough road game that it's usually been for the rest of the league; the Sharks are only 17-15-5 at home.

Hawks: 40-21-6 (86), 31-24-12 adjusted (74), 80.396 expected
Sharks: 34-26-8 (76), 31-29-8 adjusted (70), 70.407 expected

Hawks: 2.731 scored (16th), 2.269 allowed (2nd), 0.463 differential (6th)
Sharks: 2.765 scored (14th), 2.676 allowed (17th), 0.088 differential (17th)

Hawks: 41/229 power play (17.9%, 19th), 154/174 penalty kill (86.2%, 2nd)
Sharks: 46/210 power play (21.9%, 5th), 149/186 penalty kill (80.1%, 23rd)

That was a nice one-timer from Keith. I'd like to see more of that from him.

When Seabrook "scored" on Crawford at Soldier Field, Crawford said: "He's a good player. Give him an open chance like that, he’ll bury it."

Evenly matched game. I'd say the two teams are about the same in skill level right now, but the Hawks have obviously banked more points.

High-sticking John Scott. That's a new one.

All the missing persons showing up. Bickell, Sharp,Richards last game. Almost like they should've been doing all along.

This is the kind of game they needed to have. Busting slumps, scoring more than twice, and doing it against a team that, while not great, isn't a bottom-feeder like Carolina, Edmonton, or Phoenix.

I want to see Teravainen get a goal today.

I hope Bickell takes a run at Thornton before this is done.

Sharp scoring twice? He must think this is a good night out with wives.

Sweet win. Power play goals. Sharp getting the puck in the net. All this against a legit goaltender.
I like it

That just about shuts the door on the Sharks making the playoffs. This'll be their first miss since 2003, and only their second in 17 years, which, for all their postseason fuckups, is admittedly impressive. Anyway, down to the Kings and Jets for the last spot, and even the Jets may take themselves out of the picture tonight.
