I am going to take that as a positive CH post.

Regular season:
Record: advantage Chicago, 48-28-6 to 46-28-8
Record adjusted for point inflation: advantage Minnesota, 42-33-7 to 39-31-12
Goals scored: advantage Minnesota, 227 to 220

Goals against: advantage Chicago, 186 to 188
Power play: advantage Chicago, 17.6% to 15.8%
Penalty kill: advantage Minnesota, 86.3% to 83.4%
Minor penalties: advantage Chicago, 232 to 263

Playoff numbers aren't updated yet but I did note that Minnesota has the advantage in goals against through six games, 14 to 21. Give up 21 goals this round, you're probably not scoring 22. Hawks are doubling up the Wild in trips to the box, 28 to 13.

The Blues results in the playoffs have been quite comical, the Wild will be a tough nut to crack.

Yeah hell is comin' to breakfast against these guys. We'll see if the Wild get star struck a little playing on the big stage against a team with the recent playoff success that Chicago has had. Hopefully we can put a whupping on them in Game 1 and have a little self doubt creep in. I think sweeping the first 2 here is paramount.

This series is going to fucking suck.

Sure, the Wild will probably stuff the Hawks heads up their asses but that's not what I'm dreading.

The games at Xcel will have to be on mute because the Wild's shit-for-brains fans will be chanting Craw-ford for 60 minutes straight.

20,000 entitled Lutheran fake-nice shitheads chanting in unison. Uuuuuuggggghhhhhh

Hawks-killer Erik Haula has been a healthy scratch as of late, not sure whether that's due to ineffectiveness or sheer depth. Sean Bergenheim isn't playing, either, but Sean Bergenheim kinda sucks.

Versteeg and Kimmo must be replaced by Teavu and Cumiskey or Runbad.

Yeah, Versteeg has to go immediately. I can't it anymore.

Timonen gives us nothing. I wish Stephen Johns could wake up one morning and just be fully ready to blow guys up.

Kris Versteeg also in the white jersey. Teuvo Teravainen is not. Hmm. #Blackhawks

Haha, Sam Fels nailed it when he said Q is like a turtle race: he gets where he's supposed to go, it just takes him forever to get there.

That is great, so are these:

Blackhawks' lines in practice: Saad-Toews-Hossa, Bickell-Richards-Kane, Sharp-Vermette-Teravainen, Desjardins-Kruger-Shaw

If it were me, I'd swap 29 and 10, but that's just being greedy now.

I probably would too, but I'm sure Q is playing this Bickell/Minnesota matchup that seems to work for whatever reason. I'd say he wants some size on the second line, but then that leaves a pretty light third line.

If there's a 225 lb plus player in the league who plays lighter than Bickell I'd like to see him

Worrying about forward lines is sexy and fun. I wish that was our problem instead of Timmonen and Rozsival.

Hmm. How much do Eric and Jordan Staal weigh?

Yeaaahhhhh, one of them has to go, even if it's for AHL fodder like Cumiskey. And we have to keep both pairs of wondertwins together instead of making Keith and Seabrook babysit. Fuck whichever guy on the Stars broke van Riemsdyk's knee.

That's great to hear. Any news on the defensemen?

Especially if he's on the bench.

Game 1 8:30 (more like 8:45 probably) Friday
Game 2 7:30 Sunday

Again with these fucking 8:30 starts? At least it's a Friday, but still. Don't tailor a Chicago-Minnesota series to a New York television audience. Fuck you, NHL.

The 8:30 starts are a joke. They typically don't get going until 8:45. And with OT's, an early riser like me cannot make it through. Oh well, the team is barely worth watching.

The series line is the same -135 as the Predator series, even with home ice. It is the lowest number for a home team in the remaining group. It doesn't seem like people are believing in the Blackhawks.

I'll be in on the series line as that seems like an undervalued number...not heavy.

Minnesota won two out of three on the road against the division champion. Hawks only won one of three on the road against a lesser team than the Blues, and in double overtime at that. Minnesota went 9/11 on the kill, Hawks went 16/22, demonstrating both superior discipline and penalty-killing on the part of the Wild. Aggregate scores for the first round are 17-14 Minnesota and 21-19 Nashville. It makes sense to me.

The winner of this series represents the West in the Stanley Cup finals. I want to believe it will be the Blackhawks, but I just can't. Sadly...I think the road ends here.

I spoke to one of my sales guys in Minneapolis today and he was yapping about how great the Wild are.

Hawks in 6 games.
