there is almost no reason for them to play nice with WSCR either as individuals or as an organization. The station has done its best to burn through the goodwill created by 3 championships. They have smeared people's names without any offering of proof. They kicked the team when they were down. Now that they are up, they really have no need for promotion from the Score.

There will be a few "Couldnt get back to you" or "Sorry, no extra tickets for tonight...can I hook you up with some tickets to a B 96 bash?"

Could see me bumping into Rogowin during Cubs World Series run, might engage such conversation.

Not completely, but I know that they pretty much have blackballed B&B already. They'll still let Edzo do phone bits with M&H I reckon...

Part of me thinks that if the Hawks did give the Score the cold shoulder, that the Score would start screaming about how they're being punished because they tried to DO THEIR DAMN JOBS AS JOURNALISTS while the rest of the city sucked up to them, and this proves that the Score isn't afraid to go after power (as long as the power is goy). Never mind that the Score's journalistic integrity on the Blackhawks is dubious at best, now that's two strikes against McDonough: first the "tone-deaf" press conference, and now the "bad optics" of trying to silence their loudest detractor.

The problem with that, of course, is that the Blackhawks' loudest detractor has been just as complicit in McDonough's "be nice and we'll give you free things" game as the rest of the media, only they don't have the common decency to hold up their end of a Chicago-style quid pro quo, which just makes them seem bratty and stupid. Let's be real: this is not even close to the first time the Score has broken bad on the Hawks with one hand while accepting free shit with the other. What should happen here is the Score blackballing the Blackhawks, boldly letting Chicago know that they don't want the Hawks' club seats, or their customized jerseys, or face time with the backup goalie for the afternoon host's son, and that they'll go on covering the Hawks as they please. Then people will see that "covering the Hawks as they please" consists of erroneous classist slurs and making shit up.

Not necessarily, Good Dolphin.

It's the old mafia way of thinking.

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."

I wouldn't be surprised if McNonough still gives Bernstein 200 level tickets this season for a few games. And allows his kid in the locker room after the game.

My guy told me...

No, of course, I shouldn't use the word "know", but especially since all the Sharp stuff last season, I don't believe they have had one Blackhawks guest, be it a player, coach, or Pat/Ed, while I hear Ed frequently on with M&H, and even G&S, and Foley will pop up from time-to-time. While you don't hear too many player interviews on any station other than the flagship pre-/in-/post-game, I don't think I have heard a player interviewed on B&B in a long time - and won't, because I'm done with that show.

They had one Rocky Wirtz on after the championship. I remember people on this board expressing surprise based on the Sharp stuff but the Hawks care more about visibility. They won't boycott the highest rated show in town for spite.

They had Rocky Wirtz on the day after the championship win. Since then, they haven't really had occasion to have anyone on, but I wouldn't be surprised if things start getting a little chilly between the team and the Score. And it is because of one guy, the guy whose kid gets to talk shop with the backup, implicitly in exchange for not denigrating the team, the sport, and its customers. But as the Score's expert at getting free shit from sports teams would say, so much for that.
