They brought some kid up then stuck him between Bickell and Garbut so he's going to suck. Teuvo riding the pine so Bickel can be bad. Crow in net . Go Hawks.

Teuvo needed a scratch. Bickell in for physical presence ( ;) ).

1-1 after one in the Peg ain't too horrible.

The Jets have two first lines. Ehlers and Schiefele are really going to light teams up this year. Very good period from the Hawks other than Wheeler's big shot, but you had to figure that was coming.

Social justice takes a hit as Kaner pots number 6.

Gotta say, I'm underwhelmed with how the Jets crowd is halfheartedly booing Kane. These are the best fans in the NHL; no one comes close when it comes to passion and engagement. You'd think they would come up with a creative chant and do it loud. 15,000 under a low roof should be deafening.

Hawks trailing for the first time in a while. They can afford to lose this one and stay at .600 but I'd like to see them win a divisional game.

Why is Bickell not in Rockford? Aren't there any dogs that need to be saved in the northwestern part of IL? Thats about the only thing his useless ass is good for these days.

Of all the players they've lost since the first Cup win, Andrew Ladd maybe the one I want back the most.

He's not having his best start to the season, but I don't think he sucks. Hutchinson is just unreal against us, whaddyagonnado.

Hutch is going to have to win this game with 40 saves, but it seems as if most of the saves have been of the crest variety.

45/46 on the night for Hutchinson, and some of those 46 weren't shot right into his chest, so hey.

Through ten games, Toews, Kane, and their $21MM lead one of the worst offenses in the league. Must-win in St. Paul tomorrow.

Do divisional games not count in October?

Oh for fucks sake.

So what if they lose tomorrow night their season is over?

Dont start this crap already man. It is not even November.

A week+ ago, you were cracking jokes about Kane being one of the leading scorers in the league and how hard that must be for Bernstein

Toews just won 2 games in a row with OT GW goals.

You sure you're feeling ok? You sure your post is directed at the right people?

I didn't say the season is over if they lose, but they need six points in the next five games, which are Wild/Kings/Blues/Devils/Oilers. Should be able to pick up the last two, going to need a win in the first three, you'd like for it to be one that keeps points away from a Central team.

I went over the math last week. .600 by the beginning of December, they're safe. Below that and down to .500, they're in trouble. Under .500, they're finished.

Patrick Sharp's second of the game ties the game against Vancouver with under five minutes left. Stars will be three or four points up on the Hawks by the end of the night. This division, I tell you.

I might agree, but that speaks to the quality of the decisions Bowman has made since then

Who else was really pleased with what Tanner Kero brought? He has promise. I like that he was nominated for the Hobey Baker but didn't win, the award itself being, if not a curse, a rather poor predictor of future success.

Stars wound up winning that game, by the way. Trading Sharp within the division for a plug and a retard may turn out to be a backbreaker.

Oh, fuck, the Weakerthans broke up. Thanks for all the titles for threads for games against the Jets, and for everything.

Yeah, but Sharp had a whopping 3 points (all assists) going into the Anaheim game, so his historic streakiness may have come into play for the last 2 games.

If Dallas is going to be a serious contender this season, I don't think it will be because they traded for Sharp.

The hawks only got 2.5MM in cap relief from the Sharp trade. That's really not much, considering the 2 players in return (Daley and Garbutt) kinda suck.

Sharp's contract limited them in terms of WHERE they could send him....it appears to me they held too long and Dallas had the Hawks by the balls. The Stars wanted Sharp, but they were sure to make sure they rid themselves of some waste to get him.

I still like the Saad trade a lot, but between the Sharp trade and they fact that they failed to deal Bickell puts the blackhawks at 1 for 3 on offseason moves.

Still like the roster, though.

.

I thought it was the most impressive rookie debut game for a Hawks player in many years.

2 for 4 under that criteria, you're forgetting about the Panarin signing. That alone gives Stan a win for the offseason.

Well, it'll be because they matched last year's production while bouncing back from ridiculously poor prevention, but Sharp will be a contributor. I'm just dumbfounded by how bad Trevor Daley is. I knew he wasn't great at his position, but he's been almost as bad as Rundblad.

wdelaney72 wrote:

There's a lot of good and a lot of bad. Tikhonov is a fourth-liner, Desjardins is a 13th forward, and Bickell doesn't belong in the league. Dano is promising, but he can't learn left wing, and that's trouble.

We just cannot be cavalier about the team's games not mattering. The season matters. Six very good teams are playing for five spots, and they don't determine which one gets left out by a rousing game of duck-duck-goose. There are what, 29 divisional games? Gotta win as many of those as possible.

Agreed add Panarin to the + column.

I still loved Hartman's debut when he absolutely murdered that guy on his first shift. I want to see more of him so they are going to need to trade Shaw to get him on the ice.
