My boyhood favorite team, Orr, Esposito,Bucyk et al will be forever burned into my memories. Down 1-0 early on a weird deflection . Darling in net. Weise in lineup. Go Team.

Little ball of hate redux beats Darling with 20 left in the period. 2-1

21-13 Boston in shot attempts, 12-5 in the ones that got through. The Hawks' power play was poetry in motion, but at even strength they're not even in the game. Two backbreakers from Darling don't exactly help.

For the most part Darling has been garbage this season.

Yeah, wasn't the first goalie to be a flash in the pan and he won't be the last. If this one should get out of hand, I'd weigh the merits of calling up Leighton to back up for the stretch and sending Darling back to Rockford. Leighton has arguably been the IceHogs' MVP. I believe Darling is just barely waiver-exempt. If he's not, well, never mind.

EDIT: He's not. Never mind.

Yeah, came up with the Red Wings, Boston picked him up off waivers.

This game was a writeoff from the first minute. Backup goalie trailing early on the back end of a road back-to-back? It was over before it started. That's probably a loss 90% of the time.

Darling was not good tonight. Hawks turned the puck over far too much in the 1st, but after that they didn't play a bad game. Darling was just easy to beat. He went down early, Boston knew he would, and they went top shelf.
