I'm not sure what the formula is but DePaul is going to 4A next year. I'm declaring them the 4A champs this year since they beat Warren, Benet, and Rich.

It has to be in specific two year windows. Depaul won their previous two in different windows. The IHSA also uses enrollments from 20-21 and 21-22 for this year. Depaul and St. Laurence specifically have seen a great advantage of getting to play in classes below in all sports where they should be as both have surged in enrollment last few years. That is all being changed in the next few months.

Oh, he was definitely fouled on that shot. The thing I would question was whether he was behind the line.

Also, Walls was absolutely set on that play where he got run over and they called him for a blocking foul and on Porter's fourth he was set and Gonzales threw an elbow into him.

There's no way Brother Rice has any beef with the way that game was called. They just couldn't handle DePaul's press. The same thing happened when they beat DePaul at Gordon. DePaul knew they could press them and they would come apart. In the earlier game Brother Rice just shot the lights out.

I'll say this. Neither team deserved to lose that game. And Gonzales is well deserving of Catholic League Player of the Year.
