Went to the MC game. St. Laurence had their chances at the end but couldn't make a shot. Surprisingly their best players did not take the shots.

Any idea what St. Pat's is like?

Most of the kids when I played, ended up at St Pat's because they weren't smart enough to get into Fenwick.

I only worked the table at a hand full of games this year, but the level of officiating has dropped off even more than the quality of play.

They're a solid team. Have a decent sized big. I don't think they will be able to press MC and MC has a big advantage on the perimeter. Now if MC gets in foul trouble and randomly throws the ball away like last night, Pats can pull the upset.

It's gonna be tough for DePaul this year, especially with Rob Walls, who may be their best defender, out. He could barely walk last week. He looked a lot better at the game on Tuesday but he was wearing a knee brace and limping. I doubt he'll be able to play in this tournament, but who knows. I'd like to have the healing powers of a 17 or 18 year old kid.

This is on the Pecatonica coach. You can't let a school you are clearly better than stall out an entire quarter. This is a 1a school whose only loses where to Neuqua Valley and St. Laurence in regular season. The team that beat them last night they beat by 31 and 8 this regular season.

There's traveling or carrying almost every time down the floor at every level.

I see that my Knights get to play this Depaul team you people speak of. I wouldn't have even known had I not seen a story pop up about the Knights having some last minute appeal go through to keep them from being disqualified after the regional title game. I guess someone has been ineligible or the computer had them ineligible for the last month of games or so. It looks like they decided to pretend nothing happened and are letting them play on. Maybe PJ will come watch. Iirc he was all state at basketball too.

It seems like every sport people underestimate st. pat's and then they go and win games in the state tournament

My friend's kid coaches the girls team. They won state for the first time in school history.

I see this is becoming more common at the high school level. Why not just defend the guy with the ball and make him pass it, or force a 5 second violation?

Yeah I didn’t get that. Did high school do away with the 5 second rule?

That's what they should have done. Chose to sit in a zone instead.

Shot clock is the rule starting in 2026.

35 seconds.

Your guys are an 18 point dog.

They are lucky they scored more than 18. There is a serious talent differential to be 31-1 and get throttled by 40 in a super sectional game.

I think Kleinschmidt must have gone the other way. He had them pull the ball out and stop trying to score. What an ugly game.
