I haven't heard the scuttlebut but there was some chooch family in my neighborhood that was sending their kid there a few years ago because of sports. I saw their house in pre foreclosure at the same time so I thought maybe they were moving and forgot about it. My wife reminded me last night because she really disliked them. So many people make bad decisions for their kids because of sports.

douchey wife used to call her husband big daddy...the kind of dude who would wear loafers with no socks and sun glasses at all times. He was a big fat guy who would tell people he was a college athlete. I guess he wasn't lying but he was a swimmer and now had a lineman's body.
