I gotta say, of all the things available to do in Las Vegas on the daily basis, taking in a WNBA game wouldnt be on the radar. |

Even with all the sold out venues, the WNBA is expecting to lose $50M this year? I'm not buying it. |

Something isn't adding up Quote: Las Vegas Aces become the first WNBA team to sell out every home game in a season Quote: The Aces led the WNBA in attendance last season when they averaged 9,551 fans. They are averaging 10,379 this season, fourth in the league through Wednesday's games. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-Mobile_Arena Quote: Capacity Overall: 20,000
Basketball: 18,000 Boxing/MMA/Pro Wrestling: 20,000 Ice hockey: 17,500 Concerts: 12,000–20,000[3] |

I'll help you out. The Aces don't play in T-Mobile Arena. In fairness, it was only the second paragraph of Nas' article. |

Brick wrote: I'll help you out. The Aces don't play in T-Mobile Arena. In fairness, it was only the second paragraph of Nas' article. The Michelob Ultra Arena has a capacity of 12K. So they still really aren't "selling out" their games. Even when they play at their lesser capacity home arena, 1/4th to 1/3rd of the arena is still available for seating. The headline was "ginned" up to make the WNBA seem more popular than it really is. |

Be that as it may, "sold out" is a misnomer if seats are empty and unsold. |

It may also be the difference between seating for the other events like fights and concerts and ones with a big basketball court in the middle. |

Even in the article they admit that it technically wasn't a "sellout". You are splitting hairs here and completely missing the point. Quote: Las Vegas in March also became the first team to ever sell out its allotment of season tickets, leaving only individual game tickets available.

Well first off I was just laughing at your point about them not selling out in the arena they don't play in. I'm confused on your last point. Season tickets sold out in March. The may have sold all the individual seats in the 3 months since March. |

Caller Bob wrote: They havent truly sold out any arena it seems How so? Keep in mind I have no idea about the attendance at Aces games but you seem to be making an argument that they aren't selling out because season tickets sold out in March. |

They arent selling out because as laid out in the story, on avrage they are only filling 80-85% of capacity |

I'd also be interested to see what the average ticket price is and how many of those tickets were bought by the league and given away for free. Also, not that the NBA doesn't have its share of non-calls, but come on: |

Today's game between the Sky and Fever was a thriller. Angel Reese, the leading MVP candidate, led all scorers in points and rebounds. The Sky made a remarkable comeback in the fourth quarter, overcoming a nearly 10 point deficit to secure an 88-87 victory. Caitlyn Clark put up 17 points and 13 assists, but her performance was marred by her excessive focus on creating as many turnovers as she does assists. It is worth noting that the game was played without tackling. |
