If Juice Williams doesn't get it done this weekend, do you have a full fledged QB controversy in Champaign? |

It might not be "full fledged" but I believe a qb controversy will evolve. The problem is that so much pressure has been put on Williams and there has been so much hype that if he were to get benched based on performance (not injury) that it may destroy his collegiate career (assuming he has one). |

i saw this on EveryDayShouldBeSaturday.com. Do you think Juice has been that bad? I was surprised by this... "Juice Williams will be the starter for the Illini against Michigan on Saturday, meaning that Michigan will not have to face a competent pass on defense during the game. The whole point of this post is to say that Juice Williams is awful. Oh, holy smoking Lucifer’s fiery balls is he awful. He couldn’t start for App State, and hasn’t topped 130 yards passing this season at all. Against anyone. In any of the football games he’s played this season. In fact, versus Michigan’s gentlemanly defense, the duel of manners between Williams and the Wolverine defense could be the stuff of falling-off-barstool funny. Please, sir, take a wide berth through this generous zone defense hole! No, I couldn’t possibly. No, we insist! No, I prefer to hem and haw for a bit before shortening the grass with a throw into the sod. Have it as you like, boy-o!" |

He's been pretty bad but actually improved since last year. The weird part is the only thing he was good at last year was the deep ball and this year he's been good on the screen/short stuff and bad with anything over 10 yards downfield. |

Trying to be objective, Locksley has not opened up the offense when Williams is in the game. I am hoping/expecting that they open it up against scUM or else it could be Iowa Part Deux. It would be nice if they got both kids a QB coach..... |

I'm just concerned that with the prime time national tv coverage that Juice will be even more "juiced" than normal. If he hits his receivers, he might be busting some fingers. They need a way to settle him down. If he should stumble early on, maybe let McGhee in for a few series and then reinsert Williams (unless McGhee's play doesn't call for it). I just don't want a situation like they had a few years ago with Buetjer(sp), Brasic(sp), and company playing musical quarterback. |

The difference here is a) that Williams and McGee at least appear to be talented and b) the incompetent Ron Turner is miles away ruining the Bear offense. |

Very true. I just don't want the revolving quarterback door to happen. |
