Job Summary:

The Head Women's Golf Coach reports to the Director of Golf and the designated Associate Athletic Director and is responsible for all aspects of the women's golf program. This position is a full-time appointment, renewable on a contract basis, September 1 through August 31.


Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for the national recruitment of top student-athletes commensurate with the admissions qualifications of Northwestern University, who are capable of successfully competing at the Big Ten and national levels;
Developing recruiting lists and responding to all correspondence, identifying and evaluating prospects, and the final decision on recruits;
Coaching and training the women's team;
Developing and conducting all in season and out of season sessions as deemed necessary and appropriate and deciding on the women's travel squad for competition;
Serving as tournament director of fall tournament which will attract a nationally competitive field, overseeing all fundraising and financial aspects;
Assisting the Director of Golf in developing a nationally recognized competitive schedule;
Ordering, supervising and taking inventory all women's golf equipment;
Abiding by all NCAA, Big Ten and Northwestern University rules and regulations and submitting all compliance paperwork in a timely manner;
Presenting to the Associate Director for Intercollegiate Administration and to the Director of Athletics a projected annual budget in the areas of responsibility for approval. Accountable for expense control compliance and administration of annual budget; Implement Department operational procedures and policies;
Assisting Director of Golf in fund-raising efforts on behalf of the Department and the University;
Performing other related duties as required or assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired;
Knowledge of and commitment to rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University;
Minimum 3-5 years teaching golf with experience developing high-level competitive golfers;
Professional competitive tournament experience as a player, teacher, or tournament administrator;
Collegiate golf experience as a player or coach;
Knowledge of fundraising, community relations, budgetary processes, college recruiting, and tournament administration;
Commitment to successful athletics in the context of an academically challenging university;
Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University.


Preferred Qualifications:

PGA/LPGA accreditation preferred.
