Great matchup tonight between Glenbard North & Batavia. Both team lost their opener last week, GN to Centerville, Oh. & Batavia to Oswego, who has a D1 QB prospect in Steven Frank who is an absolute stud. A lot of great football programs got beat in week 1. Brother Rice, Mt. Carmel, Joliet Catholic, St. Viator, Carmel, Montini, Naperville North, Wheaton Warrenville South, Wheaton North, Lincoln Way East, East St. Louis, & Nequa Valley. |

Stevenson @ H-F is supposed to start any moment now -- the storms appear to have left the area. Edit: Game postponed to 6:30 PM tomorrow. |

I dont watch much HS football these days, but when I do it on TV it is always the Texas prep teams that are running pro offenses with 2 TE's that are really WR's, running crosses, everyone is in motion. . I think I went out on a pass route 3 times, targeted 1 time for a catch. We threw the ball maybe 10 times a game. Was kind of boring. |

Kaneland is 2-0 but I think they have played 2 shit teams from the public league because no on outside of their conference will play them now. Pisses me off that the matchup with Batavia that was proposed got nixed for some reason. That would have been awesome to get them back together. Dekalb, Sycamore, Kaneland and Yorkville have to get out of that conference and into something decent. |

No, Derr is not on the team. What a game. The Geneva QB, Daniel Santacanterina threw 5 picks, 2 of which were returned for TD's. Bulldogs win another conference title and should be a 2 or 3 sead in the playoffs. |

Well that's too bad. I was hoping he'd change his mind. He's a hell of a baseball talent. |

High School football playoff brackets were announced tonight on CSN. Batavia (8-1) draws Mount Carmel (5-4) in the first round. This may be the first time that 2 teams who won the state championship the previous year, are playing each other in the first round the following year. Mount Carmel struggled this year & had to win their last game to get in. They are the team that no one wants to play. Comcast Sports Net is broadcasting this game live at 1:30 Saturday. |

You have a mediocre regular season and are rewarded with home field advantage?!? This rule has to change. Participation award. Everybody gets a trophy now. |

Playing Montini today at home at 1pm. It's our first home playoff game. Winner will see Sycamore or Geneseo. Good luck! |

Last week they knocked Joliet Catholic out for the 100th year in a row. |

And....another loss to Montini. Marian's QB played awful. Threw 3 INTs and just killed drives. As an aside, the head coach announced his retirement a few weeks ago. His overall record vs. Montini was 1-10. Nobody is beating Springfield Sacred Heart this year anyway. |

I don't get why lower-seeded teams get home games over higher-seeded ones. Stevenson (1) is playing at Glenbard West (2) this weekend. Makes no sense. |

DannyB wrote: I don't get why lower-seeded teams get home games over higher-seeded ones. Stevenson (1) is playing at Glenbard West (2) this weekend. Makes no sense. Because there is no true seeding process. Seeds are based strictly on wins you have and then tie breaker is total wins of teams you played. So whoever has hosted less home games gets the game. If their is a tie then they go to seeds. |
