Single digit wins for the 5th year in a row, why not get an assistant coach from one of the conuntries leading scoring teams. Northwestern St, Iona...one of the teams that just SCORE. Shoot 3's , become entertaining. |

To see more of this crap? lol Always wanted to go coach some school in the middle of nowhere and assemble the team of 3 point shooters. LMU style! (Thats Loyola Marymount for all you kids out there) Go find shooters that move the ball. Defense might be a problem, but we will be in the games...go 6 shooters deep, want 3 in the game at all times. |

As I was saying, Northern Illinois needs to become relevant. They're out in the middle of nowhere. If Dave Kaplan coached them, so can you. |

Southern Utah. 50 miles from St. George, 200+ miles from the SLC-Provo corridor, and it's Utah, so it's infinite miles from reality. Work some Grinnell shit in there too. |

Donnie Boyce needs to forget about this HS nonsense and take this gig. Former D-1 star, CBA player and NBA player. He knows every option professionally. And he can coach. And grope boobies. Just kidding. |

what good coaching candidate would want the UIC job? no tv, no crowd... dead program. If it could be resurrected by a younger coach - i.e. NCAA appearance - said young coach cashes in on a better job the following year. |

David Kaplan was an assistant basketball coach at NIU (1983-1986). |

I agree that UIC and also DePaul need a gimmick. They need the modern version of the 100 pt per game college run and gun. |

It's how you become a GOOD CANDIDATE, taking bad programs and getting noticed. |

What good coaching candidate would want to coach at most of the area schools--UIC, NIU, DePaul, Loyola, Bradley, etc? None of them have much appeal. I used to love watching DePaul play in my youth, but they're not going to be anything until they get a real AD and smarter administrators. |

He got fired for being physical with an unruly kid in his role as security at the school, not for his work as a coach |

Right now the Univ. of Northern Iowa & Wichita State are both ranked teams and the only team doing anything within 175 miles from here is...Wisconsin? |

UIC hasn't been good since the 03-04 season. 5 CPS studs would need to commit at the same time for there to be any hope for this program. |

I don't know about basketball, but I've heard (on good authority) that the school is looking only for athletic recruits to score close to the school's ACT/SAT average. When I ridiculed this notion (in ear shot of the baseball coach) he looked uncomfortable. If I scored 28 or 29 on the ACT and had actual D1 talent, why in the hell would I even consider UIC? |

They always made their living on finding talent that fell through the cracks. It's there every year. They just got bad at identifying it. |

If it can be found at Northern Iowa and now consistently at Butler or Wichita State, but not at UIC, I'd suggest shutting down the entire athletic department. Find a mega church in the making and sell them the Pavillion. Or maybe just go the (real)big winner style & only play Sir/Club level/intramural games. |

The coaches and who ever is in charge of recruiting at the state schools have been awful at their jobs for the past decade or so. You should accidentally make the tournament once every ten years with the talent in this state. |
