"Little bit of effort" in getting it listed in the major areas. I do marketing. It isn't far off.

The other parts of the process? I know nothing about. When I need to know...my sister is a realtor.

Local newspapers, Redfin, Zillow, Homefinder - not much effort required.
Getting listed is such a small part of the process though. No one gets a realtor so they can get listed.

We tried to sell a home by owner and nothing happened for six weeks.
We gave it to a realtor we knew for 5% and not much happened for a month.
He then jacked up the price by about 5% and raised the commission to 7-1/2%.
He took 2-1/2% and gave 5% to the selling agent.
he entered it into the multiple listings as a new listing.
We had a dozen showings in the next 48 hours and it was sold at the asking price.
That deal ended up making us more money and was a windfall for the selling agent.
I couldn't have done this on my own.
