I agree. That's why I won't be voting for Rodbama Barackovich this election!

"You guys?"
OK, blew it then, know he's gotta go now, why not have a mechanism for it?
This has more riding on it than term limits and recall. That was just one issue.

I believe The Rod has, in effect, created his own "term limit" this time around.

Who do you replace him with? Another one of his buddies that's doing the same thing? Is that change worth $80M now? This is something that can be done without the convention.

Probably Pat Quinn. No. Yes. No.

4. I understand where you are coming from. But the poensions of state workers is another issue that we can really expand on in another thread. I understand that you're in effect a state worker and you are concerned about your retitrement. Don't count on the state money to be there. Get your own retiurement in order. If there pension is there when you retire that's just gravy.

I get what you mean, and I have set up additional retirement accounts. However, that doesn't mean I want my state pension - which I have been contributing to, without choice, for eleven years - to go to "waste". It would be nice if I actually received it upon retirment.

If he is somehow elected to another term, I'm moving to Idaho. Or Somalia - I hear Mogadishu is nice in the fall.

You pay into your own pension? I always thought they were... bequeathed?
Shit get your money out of a state pension!

It is deducted from each paycheck, my man - detailed on every stub. If I had a few more zeros at the end, I'd show it to you.

Well, I guess if I have to pay for your pension, you should have to also.

I think we're talking about different items on the paystub, but, whatever.

Have you seen the troll party in the Women/Sex/Power thread? Hey, wait aminute......

Changing the Constitution so as to be able to get rid of politicians that are incompetent is stupid. That is what elections are for. Vote "NO".

I agree, but there's more out there that needs to be changed. Why not hit this while working out the rest.

Not to revisit a dead horse, but:

I pay $234. per paycheck this year. No choice to opt out. That's why I was a little fearful of this passing.

Boy, that constitutional convention could have been handy right about now.

No - for all of the reasons listed above.

It sure would have. They could have then passed a law that required the candidate's themselves for all rallies in Grant Park.

From what I've heard, having a Credit Card helps move things along with this Governor.
