Just in the general feeler stages here guys, but would anyone be interested in coming to a golf outing in NW Indiana if I was able to put it together?

I know the courses in NW Indiana aren't great, but there are a couple. I would probably be looking into Aberdeen in Valparaiso for starters. Not real cheap but I might be able to swing a group rate for a good turnout.

Anyone?

Would love to, but...I'm no longer allowed to visit the state of Indiana

But I do think it's very cool that you are willing to organize an outing!

RW - any excuse where I get to drink beer and chase the lil white bastard around the green meadows is a good day in my book.

If I could get 25-30 guys together, that would be a nice little outing.

Yeah I don't run in that neck of the woods guys.

I'm a East Lake County/Porter County guy.

Come on out to Aberdeen. We will have a blast.

If I can get Danny Mac to come maybe we will call it "Whack with Mac" - but that may bring about connotations that noone wants to envision.

I'm going to put a board outing together, but it will be more Chicago's far west/suburbs far east. If you can get 25-30 guys together, more power to you. I would be rather shocked because that's a gigantic number of board guys for a first time gig. If you can wait till May/June I'll throw mine together. Just trying to avoid burning out the board on events as March is rather full of them...

COF - by all means - I was just thinking of a way to get a bunch of people out to chase the little ball. Makes no difference to me whether it is Illinois or Indiana - the courses are far nicer in Illinois anyway.

I can make no promises as to the number of people that would come out - I was only shooting and hoping for 20 to 25. But you have much more experience in the event planning arena, so I will defer to you.

I can wait.

my experience comes from making mistakes the first time, which was actually trying to get a golf outing together last summer. It is very difficult but I think I can pull it off this time. Just so you know, 25 people is a ton of board members. I count on of my events a success if it has 20+, which we reached at Hoops 2. But who knows? Maybe golf will draw even better. It certainly is fun. Thanks for waiting, I just hate muddying the waters. After I get the first one off the ground, maybe we can split "territory" and you do Chicago East/Indiana and I do Chicago West/Suburbs...who knows?

Count me in - whatever you need. I know the people at Turkey Creek in Merrillville - trust me it's a goat ranch, but it's cheap - might be able to work something out over there.

Isn't golf in Indiana limited to the kind where you putt through windmills and Frankenstein heads?

Since CofF is the CSFMB Event Coordinator, you have my full cooperation with any GolfNow.com courses in IL. I will provide some tee gifts and prizes as well.

Maybe DDave can be, "Assistant to the CSFMB Event Coordinator?"

No, they still use hickory shafts, mashies, niblicks, spoons and a feathery.

I'll try my best but I usually tee it up weekday mornings as the sun rises so I can be back in front of the computer by 9-10am. If i play on the weekends I am the guy that is always on his phone putting out fires and I hate that fucking guy.

COF - If you are putting a list of potentional courses together...From what I can gather, there are two courses in Naperville that are pretty nice...Tamarac Golf Course and Springbrook Golf Course...Both are easy to find...Tamarac is off of 59 and is right next to Tommy Nevins Pub which I know both the Score and ESPN1000 have broadcasted from...Springbrook is off of 75th Street.

I would suggest the course by my apartment complex but the geese have taken over and I dont think people want to fight the geese for their golf balls cause they are mean little bastards.

Any place would work for me as long as it is on a Saturday and the price is right.
