Proper etiquette is that when you invite a guest to a wedding, they are allowed a +1. ESPECIALLY the wedding party. Maybe between the time he asked you to be a groomsman you end up dating someone. Or you end up bringing a date who maybe you aren't exclusive with but she's still your date. Bottom line is that he is in the wrong here and if you were planning on going stag then its no big deal. If you were planning on bringing a date, then you should absolutely be able to and it would not be out of line for you to say something about it.

We sent out our invites earlier this month, and every invite was either addressed by name personally, or included "and guest"

This. My guess is that they were following the invitational norm, but not completely serious about the actual offer, which is a real dick move on his (their) part. Or, he knows you will just hire a hooker who will just drink all the free booze and run up the bar tab.

So we didn't end up doing the slideshow, and while the speeches were a little longer than we would have liked, they didn't drag on and on and on. For the most part, they were pretty good, sentimental and had some laughs.

Never got around to doing our individual pictures, but here is what I made for our together pictures. We're both big Forrest Gump fans, so it only seemed appropriate to use this song, and to end with the picture of us near Jenny the Boat.

Agreed. The best part about being young and going to weddings is banging the bridesmaids and/or the bride's hot cousin.
Unless you have a girlfriend you have to bring there's no reason to ever go out and get a date for a wedding. Go stag, have much more fun, get some strange at the end of the night.

I don't think there was a single wedding I went to stag back in the day that I didn't get laid at.


If my bride had hotter bridesmaids I probably would've taken a run at one of them just cause old habits die hard.
