I officially retired from range golf this year. I'm also trying to phase out all practice swings and hope to have that accomplished by end of next year.

I always would take at least 2, often 3, practice swings since I began playing when I was 12 or so. When I got to be about 40, I realized how freaking tired it was making me to take so many goddamn swings.

So, I've cut it down to 1 practice swing for a drive and usually just 1 from the fairway depending on how crappy the swing is...so often 2.

I have not broken 90 yet this year. There are some holes I'll set us up good, and others where you will wonder what in the hell I'm doing with the amount of golf I play. Also, Don is no slouch either!

Only problem with that is it always starts out friendly with lob wedges and by the end it's a bunch of drunks shooting line drive 5 irons at each other from 50 yards.

I don't think this event has those, but I played in some in the past that did. played in one where you could buy a bag for $50 that had a string, some mulligans and a ticket to take one of your drives with an air cannon instead of your club.
