You should work for Hallmark.

I began a plan over the weekend to drop 30-40 pounds. I've put on probably 25-30 pounds in the past year due to a combination of stress, declining metabolism, and large amounts of vodka which apparently has more calories than I anticipated.

The Vodka is fine you just have to mix it with something like club soda that has no calories. The mixers are what kill you with calories.

After a several month hiatus and all losses from earlier in the year being erased, I am back and hating every minute of it. My head hurts and I am pissed at everyone and hungry as hell. It usually takes a few days to get used to the reduction in food consumption. After a week of that I can get back to working out as well.

Great job!

I learned last week that I'd gained 15 lbs since last April. With a few eating changes, I've lost 7 lbs in the last week. Still waiting to get a new body fat scale to get a better idea where I'm at since I don't want to lose any muscle.

The first half marathon went so well that I decided to sign up for the Chicago 5k & Half Marathon on 9/11. Hoping to better my previous time of 1:53. Didn't feel like waiting until 10/23 for my next one.

Tomorrow makes a year for me. I'm going to start running Monday. If any of you need a running partner shoot me a PM. There will be days that I need more than music to push myself. Trying to keep up with one of you freaks should do it.

What? It's not like Busse Woods has a history of crime or anything.

The fact that I'm fairly certain you're chas probably wouldn't make us good running partners.

Starting week 4 of P90X, its the recovery week with an emphasis on core , flexibility , and stretching. Giving people a break from the resistance training of the first 3 weeks though todays core synergistics work out was as hard as anything in the first 3 weeks thats for sure. Down about 8 lbs from where I started at 188 and the clothes are fitting looser. Seem to have a lot more energy , wake up easier, not as tired at night. Not seeing a real change as far as muscle definition but they say that comes towards the end of the 90 days so we'll see. So far its been worth it just for the benefits I seem to be reaping already.

Half marathon #2 yesterday. My goal was 1:50. Finished in 1:45:10, which translates to 8:02 miles. Very happy with my time. #3 is the Rock & Roll half in St. Louis next month.

I forgot how much different running on the treadmill is from running on the ground. Legs are sore and heavy and my 2nd toe hurts. I've ran 14 miles so far in 2 days(7 each day). Not running again until Saturday.

Which do you like better? I've never run on a treadmill.

Treadmill is easier but I like running outside. Something about the air.

What are you going to do in the winter? I probably do 75% of my running on a treadmill but I probably should
do more outside while I have decent weather. Treadmill is quite a bit easier, it's more of a convenience thing
for me plus if you are running and have to use the restroom or something it is as easy as jumping off and taking
care of business. Watching TV helps the time go by as well, but I have consistiently found that I run better
times outside and get a much better workout overall with changing terrain. I have been really lazy the last
few weeks I have to get back when I get back into town after the weekend.
