This relationship of ours is complicated.

Do you really think that everybody lives in the city? I would bet that the majority of those in attendance at these events do not live in the city.

No matter where the event is held, many people will have a long drive. It is just as easy to drive from the city to the burbs, as from the burbs to the city, if not easier. There is a train station in West Chicago, and it's only five minutes from the lanes, which is a few minutes from 88 and 59. Even the people who live far away (Darkside, Boyd, Doug, etc.) said the drive was no problem. We had this event here last year, and everyone had a good time. This place is a much nicer bowling alley than the places where the first two events were held. One of them didn't even accept debit cards as payment.

There is also some leg work involved to get an event rolling. Leg work which I didn't see you, or anybody else volunteer to do. You don't just show up to a bowling alley with twenty five people.

Many of us had long drives to the first two events. I didn't hear Frank, Zack, the Hoffys or anybody else complain. City of Fools drove in from Sycamore.

It appears that this is going to be a no go for me. I've been out of commission the last couple days and I haven't felt any better so I'm likely going to miss tomorrow too, which means I should probably go in Saturday to get some work done, assuming this shit, whatever it is, has cleared up by then.

I know I was one of the people pushing hard for this date, for which I'm doubly sorry for having to back out. Also, it seems like there would have been some new faces I would have liked to meet. Maybe with enough prayer to Yu Yevon I will feel better in the morning and can somehow talk myself out of going into work Saturday, but right now it's unlikely.
