A ticket to game 3 at Wrigley is less than leash will spend to enter a bar.

I'd rather pay $100 to go to a bar and listen to Mellencamp on a jukebox.

But nothing Mellencamp did after around 1993 or so.

Slightly disagree. Add about 15 years. Right around the time he wrote that shit song Chevrolet used in their commercials.

I celebrate the guy's entire catalogue

If you remember, last time I saw him was a couple of years ago. He was sick and his voice sucked. He gets one more shot for my business. I'm willing to believe that the weak voice was due to illness but he better be blasting out tunes tonight.

I would give him a spin as far as going to see him. I don't think I would pay a premium. I would try to make sure ahead of time the set list and if he goes all Springsteen/U2 preachy in his shows.

I like Mellencamp much more than Bruce.

I don't think he preaches much. At most, he might talk about how Dr. Ken and leash's kinfolk deserve greater subsidies

I've seen him a few times and he puts on an ok show overall in my opinion. I am surprised he has any voice left at all. Appears to me that
he smokes like 3 packs a day. He's kinda starting to get that shrunken head look going on.

Civic Center concert worker in town said Mellencamp is by far the biggest ass he has dealt with. Somebody asked him for an autograph and he said "You get me Richard Pryor's autograph and I'll give you mine" and then walked away.

Killer V nailed it. Also add casinos to his future venues.

64 years old already and still going strong at good sized venues.

Maybe he will play the Blue Chip in his 70s.

I got his autograph like 30 years ago in the old commuter terminal at O'hare.

I was dating a girl that was a huge fan. He asked me what to write and in said "Dear Joanne, best wishes or some bullshit like that, John Cougar Mellencamp"

He wrote,

Dear Joanne, Some Bullshit, John Cougar Mellencamp

Good concert, not great.

He redeemed himself in terms of voice but he is never hitting those high notes again.

The old favorites are still fantastic songs.

I find the thoughts that he is some unapproachable guy to be far fetched. He is the one who shows up to clubs in Bloomington, unannounced, to play with fans.

I think half the male population over 30 sports the Lester/Ross bald look these days and are completely indistinguishable from one another.

If you want to commit a heinous crime, shave your head and wear an untucked oxford shirt with jeans. Nobody would be able to pick you out in a lineup.

two 55 year olds in front of me almost got into a fight for some unknown reason

I told them to cool it down before they broke each other's hips.

It would not surprise me at all to hear of Johnny Cougar jamming at a dive bar with some common folks on Saturday, then being a total assbag to some fans in the airport on Monday.
