from aceyalone's "the greatest show on earth (re/brand/mk2)"

it's a concrete forest of course it is of course it is
the lamp posts are the oak trees the street tops are the streams
the natives all stay inside their huts until that bright sun beams
then slowly they crept out to get some air

some argued some screamed some elmhurst some steve some black
all slept most re-cracked some wept some hobbled some betrayed
some planted some begged some panhandled others laughed
some paniced some breathed some steak & caviar on EBT
somebody some magical logical something in the loom
some whom shall i say someone is watching every post you make
some doom is waiting for you in the blue-n-white
some thought some book some other's point of view
some bled (thanks brand!) some music by the band
some danced some stood some drunk some (?plight/plotted?)
some plant some growth some joint some exotic
some gather in the end and they bought the farm
some dared some (?apple?) some charm some scared
some hands around your neck some place some (?scapel?)
some trouble some fallin' from beginnin' to end
but never could understand

You can join me at St. Iganatius for the Model UN parents cocktail party. Revelry throughout.

You probably have to get there at noon if you want a seat or a table. Cuz everybody is gonna want to be there.

I don't get the idiots who go down there just to stand in the street for 3 hours. I mean they are all Cubs fans and yet they don't want to watch the game? Standing in the street is better than watching the game? I'll never understand that.

Yeah.

Of course they're all packed. And they'll be packed for all the World Series games. Even the ones in Cleveland.

I assume they still have a cover charge for the road games.

I'm also assuming they all raised the beer prices for the playoff games. I'm guessing $10 for a Bud Lite and $15 for a Heineken.

Go south and watch the game. Paying $100 to watch a game is ridiculous. I could see doing that for a fight.

There are MANY places to watch without the absurd cover, lines or ass to elbow capacity.

Most people on the SS hate the Cubs.

Those cover charges really seem excessive. I hope the fire department investigators look into the capacity situation.

Yeah it is really close for me. I might get to Jacobs faster than you can drive to Wrigley.

My quick look at stub hub shows $650 as the cheapest ticket and $350 just for a parking pass.
