Week 1: 193
Week 2: 190
Week 3: 190
Week 4: 189.5
Week 5: 189

So far: 4 lbs.

I'm not too impressed so far with the total weight loss, but my work outs have been great and I'm eating better. If nothing else, my body/fat % is going in the right direction.

No, you're doing well. 1 - 2 pounds per week is what you should be losing. Also, if you are seeing results with inches/toning/clothes fitting better you are on the right track. Keep up the good work.

Week 1: 261
Week 2: 258
Week 3: 261
Week 4: 258
Week 5: 258

Rough weekend. My birthday was Friday, and I went to the NU UofI
game on Saturday. Copious eating and drinking both days. I'm lucky
to have maintained this week. The stuffing, potato dumplings and
gravy on Thursday will make this week another challenge.

To borrow from another poster, I definitely have a "commitment to mediocrity."

Start - 208
Week 2 - 208
Week 3 - 204.5
Week 4 - 202
Week 5 - 201 (week -1lb, cum. -7lb)

Briefly saw 199 on Thursday morning, but a dinner at Ditka's & weekend house guests shattered any hopes of staying below the Mendoza line :(

I'm with you Scott.
The clothes are fitting better, the belt is down a notch, and the cardio workouts are twice the length they were a month ago :D

I guess this is where you have trust your mirror not the scale

Started at 196.2 lbs
Today weighed in at 180.6 lbs

Haven't worked out yet, mainly lost weight by switching from beer to scotch and cutting down the usual portions that i eat. Probably won't be a recommended diet from any doctors but fuck em, it works for me.

How the hell can a scale tell your body water percentage? How can it tell body fat?

I remember in high school gym they would test body fat by using a pinching device. It wasn't a scale.

I still don't know how anything can tell water percentage?

I think you got suckered Nas. Return it. LOL.

Those scales are terribly inaccurate in terms of BF% and water percentage. Basically they send a small signal through the body and calculate based on the response.

Beardown is right, the easiest way is a caliper to have an accurate percentage.

Nas must have picked up a newer model. Mine doesn't do water. Hawkeye Vince has a point about accuracy. You might see huge variations in those percentages throughout the day. The most accurate reading is obtained after the morning piss and dump and before you ate or drank anything.

I've been using the treadmill, arc trainer, and elliptical machines and I'm developing Mark Prior like calves. Is there anyway around this? I don't want to develop the muscle but I need to do cardio.

I've been fast forwarding the 6 minute abs video and been doing it in 3 minutes. I don't know if it's better for the abs but the vomiting afterwards certainly helps the weight loss.

You really weigh 140? Aren't you like 5'9"?

I think we need to start a CSFMB food drive for Doug....
