Sadly, I will not be able to attend Darkside's Festivus Gathering in Anchorage; but I have a damn good reason. And for those of you who cannot make it that far north, I am offering a solution. It is one of the Holy Sacraments of The Crow: A Christmas 40.

What is A Christmas 40 you ask? Well, I know I have described this activity in threads past, but I will give another synopsis here.

At the end of first semester of my freshman year, we were looking for someone, ANYONE, to go and buy us beer. I will be damned if I remember who it actually was that went, but we gave him the meager amount that we rustled up, and he returned with a cornucopia of 40s. And not just any kinds of 40s, but the most excellent brands one can name. Icehouse, 211 Steel Reserve, Olde English, Mickeys...the list goes on. So, with it being a weeknight, and all of us being freshmen, we really only had one option, which was to sit in the dorms and drink ourselves blind. We did so while watching the holiday cinematic masterpiece, A Christmas Story, quoting every line and basically pulling an MST3K during the film, and we've repeated this every year since.

With all of this in mind, I'm extending an open invitation to you, the pantsless CSMFB cretin to partake in this tradition amongst me and my non-internet friends this Saturday. If you're interested, drop me a PM.

<Andy Williams>Happy Holidayyyyyyyyyyyyys, </Andy Williams>

Then how do we know it's worth it? Is it in the city?

Oddly enough, St. Ides was the first beer I ever had. I was 11 years old and I wanted to be one of the guys and hang with my older brother. So he got me fucked up on St. Ides one night.

St. Ides I can never drink again, nor get near...for it was the first alcoholic drink to get me sick. Just reading the name brings back...

I actually like Colt 45 and OE but one of my favorite 40s to get is 8 Ball. We used to pick it up at the liquor stores in Harvey and Chicago Heights all the time back in the days. Haven't seen it for awhile though.

this was a blast. thanks to stink for providing a great time (and beer & food), and he did a great job of having to actually sync up audio and video because the goddamn DVD wasn't working...had to run 2 copies of the DVD at the same time, one on the TV, one on his lap top. Can honestly say I've never seen a movie like that before in my life... :D

good times indeed!
