Does anyone have a good way of finding out who an e-mail address is registered to? The particular address I'm interested in is a Comcast.net address.

There is not a good way to do this. Most every email service will not give information unless directed by the authorities. I assume this is due to credit card fraud?

No big scandalous reason. My dad, a recent widower, has been getting some interesting e-mails from someone who refuses to identify themselves to him. He knows it's someone from his town, but the sender won't divulge their identity.

I'd just like to find out who it is for him.

why don't you get the email address and sign up that address for a whole bunch of newletters, promotions and coupons?

A few things you can try doing:

1 - Search for the email on Google and other search engines for the potential of it being used, especially on message boards!
2 - I dont know of a way to do this, but there may be a field in the email header that tells the IP Address of the sender. Unfortunately, thats probably not on the header of the email, but I just dont know.
3 - I am not recommending this to you, but you could also have someone write you a little program that you can send to the email address through a dummy address. The program when opened can check for the IP address of the computer then turn around and send the IP back to the dummy account, which you can then look up the IP location for a more exact address.
