Started out o.k....

Until Mom called me at 6:30 to tell me that Dad is having chest pains and we need to take him to the hospital.
EKG sucks. Gave him Nitrol for the chest pain and some other thinners. Put him on oxygen. He has been admitted and will probably have an angiogram tomorrow....which will likely show arterial blockage and require surgery of some sort.

They are scheduled to leave for NOLA on Friday. Probably not gonna happen.

Please keep us in your thoughts.

Good luck to you and your family, D-EP. my dad went through the same sort of thing a couple of years ago and know that it is quite scary. it actually turned out great that he was able to go to the hospital and treat a warning sign, as opposed to a major grabber.

i'll throw some prayers up north for you.

I agree with Mope here. My father in law had a similar thing and got a stent that actually made him feel much better than he had previously.

I hope everything works out, Doug.

Sounds like they were able to avoid a life threatening situation by being proactive and getting help right away, rather than "waiting to see if it goes away". Kudos to Mom and Dad for their quick response.

We're all with you, D-EP!

Good vibes Doug. Same shit happened to my mom around New Years. She eneded up getting quad bypass. All went well tho and I'm sure the same will for pops.

he had three stints put in. one of his original repairs from his double bypass from 14 yrs. ago was 95% blocked and two other of "his" arteries were 99% blocked.
he's fine and recovering and will be home tomorrow.

Our bodies tell us stuff that doctors can't easily. I'm glad to hear he got there in time before something worse happened. Best of luck

Excellent news Doug. He'll be home just in time to rest and watch basketball all day while recovering.
