Guys, who wants to have a jam session?
We have band practice in Roselle every Saturday. Anyone want to show off and hang out with CSFMBers and drink and smoke (cigarettes of course) and play some tunes?
PM me if you're down for a jam session Come on folks, I know you're out there.

I have two half stacks, four guitars, an bass amp and a couple bass guitars, and a full drum kit at the digs. No Guitar Hero, unfortunately.

So, joking aside,

Does anyone want to jam?

I'm interested, but my time is pretty thin on the weekends. Lots of Pi practices going on at the moment.

Try going 8 guitars with that opening riff, half clean/muted half distorted. Mindblowing!

There's not setlist per se, but the most recent list looked like this:
Bad Moon Rising, Bouncing 'Round the Room, You Don't Know How It Feels, Character Zero, Uncle Johns' Band, Yer So Bad, Blister, Silent in the Morning. so when we cover that's kind of where we go, Phish, Dead (not to be confused with dead fish, or as we called that in Hish School, Debbie) Petty, the like. We've got some origninals. Low key. Not metal. Chillaxin.

I still remember how to play Phil Collins' "Billy Don't You Lose My Number" on piano from music class in grade school...that would rock.

I always did enjoy a good jam session while I was in Ames...had some pretty good shit come out of those sessions...it was always strictly original stuff though.

That being said, I've play my Strat twice in the last two years, and I don't think the commute would be worth it... :)

Most of our are originals as well. If you have a Strat, you OWE it to her to keep her happy.

Yeah...I'm gonna try to focus on playing at least a few minutes every day...at least it's not stuck in the case under my bed now.

Nothing fancy like that Doug...just your run-of-the-mill Standard Mexi-Strat...had it for probably five or six years now...the only thing I don't like it the bridge...squeaky, and I never use the tremolo...next Strat will definately be a hardtail.

cool. i have a red mexi-strat from around 98 or so.

the bridge on my strats/squires are all pasted to the body with 4-5 springs in the back as i never use the tremelo anyway.

there's some slight intonation that you may or may not have to do if the string action drops too low.
otherwise, works great.

If I need to worry about tuning that thing I know I've started drinking again...

funny stuff.

alright. here's my advice.
1. slacken the strings a bit.
2. paste the bridge with one spring first. It should stay, but you might need another.
3. retune the guitar.
4. play it.
5. hear how it "sounds." if it's good enough for you, then the intonation is fine.
