Blackburn / Man U is being televised on FSC Saturday, April 19th, at 11am CST I believe (or 12pm but I think that's the ET). So for all those who wanted to come together and watch some matches, that would be perfect for me--especially because I know some of you are Man U fans and they're the most popular EPL team here and I know they'll pack in the fans...I would suggest Ginger's Ale House for this but I'm open to other suggestions obviously. Also posted in the tumbleweeds of the Soccer section. WHO'S IN? |

BUMP! I'll bump this again mid week if needed but just wanted to get a head count for this event. Saturday, April 19th Ginger's Ale House 3801 N Ashland Ave Chicago, IL 60613 Show up between 10:00am-11:00am; I'll try to get there by 10:30am. The game will start at 11:00am. We can stay there all day if you want, but I can't get too crazy because I have a race the next morning. I want to be in decent shape.

So...just a quick update... I called the place and a somewhat haughty irish girl picked up - apparently they do and they don't get crowded on saturdays, which didn't really help ("figuring out how crowded it would get is like figuring out how much is in a ball of string" is what she said) so i mentioned that man u was going to be on and she said they do pack them in so get there about a half hour before the game... so i'll try to get there a little bit before 10:30am, and get a table...didn't ask if i could reserve one, i don't think they do that there, don't know...but i think if i get there before a half hour before the game starts we should be good. so i should be seeing CLH, and his lovely wife, HHJ and his lovely wife, sometime around game time. i will be easy to spot. just look for the one person sporting a blackburn shirt. |

I don't need to go to bed THAT early...I'm thinking I should get outta dodge around that time, though, and go sleepy around 9pm, then get up sunday morning at 5:30am with a good breakfast, ready to rock and roll at 7:45am for the 10k. As far as tonight...um...yeah this is my life.

Hoffney, great meeting you and redneck, redneck knows more about soccer than any female I have ever met. The real fireworks took place long after you guys left, the details which escape me after many shocks (shots) and dead guy beers. The details involved Zach getting in a fight with a much bigger guy from Ireland as we were walking to the next bar. Zack, wtf happened??? |
