Me and W_Z are going to be meeting up at Real Time Sports in Elk Grove Sunday June 15th for a few beers. I understand it's short notice and Father's day so its cool if anyone is too busy/far away to make it there, thats just when we were gonna go. If anyone else wants to go the week after or whenever thats fine too.

I wasnt sure whether or not I even wanted to post this, but a month from now I'll be leaving for Basic Training. I enlisted as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army. I figured it'd be cool to meet a few of you guys, so we'll be there next weekend if anybody wants to stop by.

I'm admitedly surprised that you are going to become a military police officer. Perhaps your experiences with cops will make you a very understanding and effective one. I can't make the Real Time meet, but will forever honor you for your service to our country.

I figured that would surprise alot of people and Im not necessarily trying to become a police officer when I get out, but I have alot of personal reasons that dont need going into for doing this.

basically it's your typical story of Message Board Member Complacent With Life So He Joins The Army.

I think Full Metal FavreFan will do this country proud.

That's going to be a "No go" on Father's Day. Thanks, but sorry, can't make it.

I would love to join you and Wheaton Zack at Real Time Sports in Elk Grove Village. I have many interesting stories I could share with you about the glorious New York Yankees and the nearly as glorious New York Football Giants. I would also be interested in knowing your thoughts regarding whether Echo & the Bunnymen are one of the most important bands of the 20th century. However, it being Father's Day, I can not attend.

I will say this, however. It will be a cold day in Hades before I allow a man who has made the commitment to serve his country pay for his own beers. Please contact me immediately, and I will arrange for a money order to be Federal Expressed to you. I believe that $75.00 should be sufficient for you and Zack to have a fine afternoon of fun.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you embark upon your honorable service to the United States of America.

Your Internet Friend, SR86

Look. Just because you think of us as your "children" doesn't mean you have to give this up...

If FavreFan is as dedicated as a military police officer as he is posting on here, he'll be a general in less than a year.

Thank you for your service. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make it, but going along with stoneroses' idea, if you setup a paypal acount, I would love to contribute a round of drinks to you and the gentleman from Wheaton.

Thanks for the offers SR and Rick, but I think we'll be fine. Appreciate the kind words though.

Due to poor planning on my part I'm unavailable. Otherwise I'd tell the hubby it's father's day, spend it with your kids, I'm going out!

Thank you.

Depending on how late you gents are there, I should be able to drop in on my way back to The Square from The Swege after spending some quality grill time with Old Man Stink. I'll get a game-time update from the mythological W_Z.

Double F, don't let Zack get himself into trouble, at least not until I show up.

Farvio! Who will I bond with at the next Super Bowl?

I am going to try and make it, but we haven't firmed up Father's Day plans yet. I'll do everything I can to stop by and buy you a cold one.

I'm really proud of you.
