I'll do my best to get the gym for us. This would be just inside Chicago city limits, next to Franklin Park. 8029 W Forest Preserve Ave. Come one, come all. Basketball talent not a prereq. Post your best Saturday afternoon availibility between now and Thanksgiving.

When are you thinking? I'm out 11/8 and 11/15 for Iowa games but am generally available since I can dump the kids at my parents and give my wife a break.

Is it really next to Franklin Park? Hell if I know, but one of us needs a map.

Hiawatha is between Addison and Forest Preserve Drive just east of Cumberland. It's closer to Norridge and Elmwood Park than Franklin Park, but it's not far from there.

C'mon you lazy jackasses...you all have cars. Spend the gas money and let's get this done.

Post subject:  Re: Hoops at Hiawatha

first off, I'm coming over 65 miles. So any gas complaints, I second KC. It is closer to Elmwood Park, I guess. I was able to rent the place last thanksgiving. Does Nov. 22 work for everybody then?

Post subject:  Re: Hoops at Hiawatha

Nov 1st, 15th, & 22nd would work for me (29th too if it's an option) if my knee heals before then....(just getting the excuse out there early).

ok, this thing is definitely a go...I've got 6 board members already through my PM's. I will call the park district monday and see what the cost is. So cool that this is going to work out...sounds like it's really Hoops 1...

I'm just concerned because, I'm more of a forward but at 6' and playing against the members of the board, I will be forced to play the role of the Muggsy Bogues point guard and my "handles" aren't what they used to be.

I would venture a guess that your "handles" are developing at a rapid pace...

I'm pulling out my Pistol Pete videos to get my handles back in shape...

This may actually have a chance at happening. The one thing that all of the other "Hoops" lacked was a gym. Now we have one.

We'll all have to work a little harder to come up with excuses for it not happening this time....

few more guys to add to the list...it IS gonna happen, unlike my Cubbies...

Put me in the "willing but unsure" group. Very interested, just a lot of other things tugging at my time. I'll try....

Um, would now be a good time to ask if anybody has a ball?

What happens if 30 people show up? Do we just get a keg and call it a day?

I have a football and a soccer ball. I'll bring both just in case.

This almost seems like it's gonna happen...almost. Too bad FavreFan isn't here to see this. I wonder what happened to that guy. And I miss Bulldog Scott. And I miss Killer V too.
