Had a hard drive crash and would really like some pictures from my hard drive. Not documents, not program just the JPEG/GIF files.

The computer guys I sued said that the drive spins then shuts down and he can only get some documents.

No, not nude pics, pics of developments, interior work etc over the last 8 years.

Please let me know if you know anyone that does this for a reasonable fee ,

Had a crash this past Fall and the have different pricing tiers based on what you would like recovered. No Charge if they fail to recover. Best advice I got was once it has stopped working do not try and start it up again. Guess it has something to do w/ whether or not they have to use a clean room and replace the spindles and plates.

Yeah, thats going to get people on this board really excited to help you

Seriously though, if you are not paying the little bit of money it is to get external hard drive space for backups or backing it up on cd/dvd, its your own fault for losing your data. Cut your losses and learn for the future. The time and cost it takes to try and recover this stuff is likely not worth the trouble from what I have found. When I tried to get data retrieved off a hard drive, the estimate was well over $2,000. No one wants to do small time stuff because its not worth the cost to them.
